No, I did not. I believe that the data was still with the car after the replacement, but this is an L Eco that does not have programmable seat positions and such. The only things I have to re-adjust are the calendar and the time after a battery disconnect.

Thank for telling us the battery you used to replace the toyota battery and where you got it. My dealership, miracle toyota wants to charge me $300 to change the battery. They also wanted to charge me $914 for 3 tires and a 4th for free. I went to Discount Tire and got 4 tires for $581. They are awesoe tires and so much quieter

O'Reilly Auto Parts is where I got the battery. What brand and model of tire did they get you? Keep in mind that new tires (of the same type, not touring vs. mudding tires) are just about always quieter - you really can't start to judge the road noise until about 15k to 20k miles, and then-after.

That rubber part and other parts connected that acts as a chain guide recently broke off of my kawasaki 800 after something got tangled in my chain, im trying to look for a replacement part but I can't find it and I'm not sure if I'm just not typing the correct search terms. Does anyone know where I can find another one or at least let me know if I should search for it as something other than "chain guide"

I just saw a "Sprocket Cover Vn800 Vulcan 800 95-05 Kawasaki K6" advertised on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/116161940003?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&srsltid=AfmBOoqmK-iXDXnXInrxtYMnceC6wC8BPO_vM5LsR3UX98qMy0-r_lTXDQ8 That rubber part, if not available at a dealership, probably aged, dry-rotted and broke away. You may need to fabricate a new one.

Jeez, this was so long ago, but I also see water on the front bumper - I'm guessing that I drove through rain to get the new battery (jump started it at home, and again at the auto parts store, with the jump pack) or on the way back home.

When I called Toyota to change the battery they are charging 175$ just to install a new battery and saying it costs that much because they need to reset the codes on a hybrid car. Is it true or they just making things up to charge?

Not sure if anyone answered u, but I went to Toyota parts dept, & installed mine in the parking lot. I gave them my old one for a core charge. All the computer does is go by age of battery & let u know when something is wrong. Being I worked for a battery company years ago, there is no issue with me bc I'm constantly checking mine.

Does the computer or anything in the Prius need to be “reset” after installing a new 12 volt battery? I heard if you don’t reset the computer the car would read that it’s still an old battery connected and won’t start the engine. Ever heard of such a thing?
@Spearfisher1970
@Spearfisher1970 Жыл бұрын
I have heard of this issue with other machines or devices (not even sure they were vehicles), but not on Priuses for a battery that recently died. In the case of this video, and most cases of weak batteries - as well as the stranded motorist whose truck I jump started (not with my Prius) two evenings ago - the batteries still had enough charge to turn lights on, etc., but could not turn over the engines. That may all change if you put a Prius into a secluded storage for a year or more and completely drained/killed the 12V battery, but that would be an uncommon occurrence.

To help with the hood latch, oil it and unscrew the rubber bumpers at the front hood corners 1/2 turn. This will put a little tension on the latch. Don’t raise them so much that the hood doesn’t sit flush. Looks like yours is a little high already. Perhaps you hit a curb and tweaked the latch strut. It’s diabolically connected directly to front lower radiator support, and transmits any deformation there to the hood.

@@udance4ever I've sold semi-trucks, dump trucks, and general straight trucks for many years. Even being parked over blacktop, here, kills the two to four batteries in many of the big trucks in two years (and, often enough, in much less time than that). It's crazy. I was originally from a northern state and never had these issues. Some Western Star dump trucks store their starting batteries inside the cab under the passenger's seat and, while I never liked that location, I have to wonder if the batteries being in the air conditioned cab made them last longer. But it's more than where one parks their vehicle. A battery being charged by an alternator develops heat. Mixed with extremely hot tarmac/highway-pavement, and high ambient temperatures, the batteries get cooked just by daily use.

in the video it says 44765 on his odometer. I had my 2019 battery go low on me & did some research & it is possible a 12V battery may need replacing in the 4-5 year timeframe. that said, the dealer said the battery checks out fine & didn't need to be replaced so just gonna keep rolling with it & keep a jumpstarter under the seat.

Obviously you did that buy a Kawasaki petcock, it is not 5/16 it is 3/8 from 1996 to 2005. A simple 3/8 filter barbed end on both sides would have been no issue. All you would have to do is cut the hose leading to the carburetor put your filter in line and go
@elterrible3067
@elterrible3067 2 жыл бұрын
The original 5/16 to 1/4 inch fuel line is really easy to get from eBay and a fuel filter is not needed as the petcock has a build in screen inside the tank
@willsrestorations
@willsrestorations 2 жыл бұрын
That screen inside the petcock is almost useless and only drags out big particles of rust it is not a true filtration like putting an inline filter in. All CK carburetors should have an inline filter, if you think that petcock screen is doing the job then you're poorly mistaken
