This is a really unbalanced and boring discussion. This is a discussion all about women and what could be the most horrific experience of their life. This podcast has no input from a woman whatsoever, if you want to make a good podcast, maybe you should have thought a bit harder about this. If anything, you're perpetuating the stereo-type of old men telling women what they should be doing with their bodies with no input from them at all. Mark seems to be providing a more open minded viewpoint, however whenever he starts puts through a reasonably balanced response, Steve cuts him off to hate on women some more. This seems more like an excuse for Steve to just rant about women rather than even approach answering the questions you asked at the beginning of the podcast.
@steveallen16485 күн бұрын
Hi @sweatmaster5913 many thanks for your comments we appreciate them. The central theme of the subject of the podcast was about a minority of women who cry wolf, deliberately lying about being raped when they know it was not true and why they do it. Nobody was hating women in general, after all 92% of accusations were true. Right? Nobody was saying that there aren't any dangers in society for women either or the possible wrong signal by women either consciously or unconsciously whilst interacting with men. The central theme was only honing in on those people who lied just as the title of the podcast informed. A minority which could have and indeed have destroyed the lives of innocent men.

The real question is whether the working man is worse off.
@steveallen164821 күн бұрын
Hi there @snipermagoo on paper or at least in relation to inflation yes the working man does appear to be better off. However as I see it it also depends on how the working man decides to put his priorities in life, which I touched on in the podcast. Modern man expects more, so for example that new car he thinks he must have will drain his resources what with car tax and insurance which have both gone higher than expected thanks to the London charge or pollution charge and so on. Also eating habits like dining out more or worse eating prepared takeaways more and so on. Where do they holiday? It all adds up and as you may know is very different from the 1970's where the Costa Brava was the favourite choice. Now we tend to think that the world is smaller and so we go further afield. I would ask that if we lived like we did in the 1970's would the working man be better off I would say most certainly yes.

I barely have my heating on. I’ve got hardly no money left until 10th dec when I get my next wages in . I’m not living above my means I hardly go out for food in cafe, I’ve got no enjoyment in life as can’t afford nout. You tell me what I should do to make my life better cause I was born in 1972 n I feel life is going backwards to that time again . Hi @rebeccajones9804 many thanks for your comments. I'm sorry to hear about your state of health, it must be awful to be in pain. I'm a little older should we say and I suffer from twists and strains when I try to do too much, so hopefully you suffer from the same thing I do and a good anti-inflammatory always does the trick (I think they're called Cocodemol where you are in the UK. As you say your house you can't afford to repair, there are charities out there that can help in the upkeep of houses, sometimes NACRO does this sort of thing or even some government training scheme for the youngsters to help out. All of what you said about observing the people around you I mentioned in the podcast, that housing was very expensive these days and that sometimes a person wants to have a lifestyle a little over their financial conditions, so those take away meals the might be buying, the new car, the weekend breaks and such I also touch upon. Also like I said, I'm somewhat of a minimalist and here in Brazil I don't live like a millionnaire but what I do have is all bought and paid for. For me the simple things in life are so much better.

People make the default assumption. Unemployed = poor. No my friend. My gf was a "single" mum and we used to go away twice a year. Sometimes beyond Europe, even.
@SophieFlynn-vm7sm25 күн бұрын
What has changed is the narrative. In the 1970's it was understood that being unemployed was a difficult experience. Now, both blue and red-blue politicians blame all the ills of the country on the poor. They don't understand poverty, and certainly have never experienced it themselves. Successive waves of unemployment have been caused by technological changes. It is better not to deal with the job centre as it stands now. You are likely to be bullied into just anything regardless of what distance the job is, or whether you can do it, or sanctioned. That is very hard if you are alone in the world. Its a shameful state of affairs; the way our citizens are treated.
@rebeccajones980425 күн бұрын
Thank you , someone who knows how things are. The job centre harassed me even though I was starting a new job, had the start date, I still had to look for work and go to job focus interviews, even the day before I started my new job and on first day of job the job centre wanted me to tell them how many hours I be working even though I told them the day before. and they cancelled the week after job focus interview they already planned for me and all the while saying if I didn’t do this or that like going in my journal they were going to sanction me. 🤦♀️

I went from one job to another. Another thing as well , my sept pay from my last job and my oct pay from my new job was classed in the same assessment period for UC, so UC put my both payments together and I received ZERO UC, If my new job payed me a day later I would’ve had all my UC, I lost over a £1000 and there was nothing I could do about it. They basically robbed me and put me in hardship, for the sake of one day. The government have allowed this and they are pure EVIL. How many other people have this happened too. When government set up the assessment period for UC they knew full well what they were doing and how many people would get caught out …

Trouble is the Government wants security guards, warehouse workers, van drivers, courier, post office mail deliverers, uber eats deliverers, taxi drivers, cleaners, carers, NHS entry level lower pay band workers, funeral workers, neither of these jobs would bring in a wage that pays your high rents, high monthly mortgage payments which has gone up with high interest rates, your high energy costs, food costs, transportation costs. And after looking for full time they say look for part time which is even lower amount of wage. The Government itself recognises that someone has to earn £38,700 a year but expects someone to work these jobs that pay below £38,700 a year and part time is even lower.

Careful what you wish for sir...what would become of all those ancient historic castles and farms and lands etc if there was no longer any royals living in and working them. It is the people, the royals who are the caretakers and they draw the tourism to your lands. Without the royal family the 'great' in Great Britain would truly be gone. And there's one ethnic group outbirthing the whole lot of you 10 to one...how long before that ethnic group exerts its dominance...last point, Channel4 is a biased left leaning agenda driven and untrustworthy and thats enough not to watch nor trust it. Look into your Royals but be careful sir on the right. I've read or heard somewhere that the Royals estates receives something like 60 million pounds per year, just one pound per person per year roughly, that seems not so bad but l suppose all those new immigrants probably dont have to pay....be careful what you wish for anti-royalist.
@steveallen1648Ай бұрын
Hi @anitasmith203 many thanks for your comments. Where do you get the idea that we're anti-royalists from? Never said in the podcast. What was brought into question was the ethics of a Commander in Chief charging his army for land it uses. It doesn't make good reading. There was no concern as to how much was earned from the transactions but rather how the money was earned. Of course an anti-royal entity would try and expose the Royal Family, that's what they do and it's clear that pro-royalists would try and keep tight lipped about things some might think controversial because that's they do. But I think there might be space for a little light to be shone on the ethics part of the deal. Don't you?

Ukraine, a country the world expected to get rolled over, has held out against a member of the P5, one of the countries recognized as the most powerful in the world, for just under three years. The statistics that you bring up about deaths is heavily favored towards Russia. Most sources agree that Ukrainian to Russian casualties may even be as staggering as 1 Ukrainian for every 10 Russians. Additionally, Ukraine is not being "given" money. They are being sold weapons. They are going into debt to pay back the nations "funding" them and they're not being funded with cash, you don't kill people by throwing bands at them, they are importing weaponry. They are proving Russia's incompetence and winning this war. The proposed sympathy towards Russia where you can "see where they're coming from" is ludicrous, they are an invading nation imposing upon soverignty, as an affront to democracy, for no other reason than political gain and power. They don't view North Korea as a rogue nation because they and the US created North Korea during the Cold War. It's bizarre to not question Russia's military power but then underplay China's military power, a force second only to the US. I hope my contribution to the discussion is not unwelcome.

Hi @writer5790 many thanks for your comment, which is greatly welcomed by the way. The sources we get our information from we cite in the podcast, so in this case Bild, Daily Express (I think) and El Pais. We draw our conclusions from these. We don't really go into the whys and why nots of the situation because as you have your point of view and perhaps we have a different point of view and we could discuss them but we would need far more space than a comments section of a KZbin video. But as you appear to be well versed on the history of the issue you will already know the possible motives on both the Russians entering the Donensk region and the arguments against. It's not for here to go into great detail as I already said there wouldn't be enough room here to discuss it all. In terms of the number of casualties and deaths I eluded to that on the Russian side when I heard that North Korean soldiers were being brought into the frey. We have to read between the lines when we read reports. But be rest assured your comment is very valuable to us and we welcome more participation from you in the future.

I'm not sure how much private individuals are taking their money out of the EU nor where they are placing unless there is a safe haven bursting at the seams. What is killing the EU economy is the stupid spending, illegal immigration which also costs a fortune (so much so Germany is beginning to close it's borders) and unnecessary restrictions on businesses stifling growth, so basically restricting making money and spending too much money dries up the EU piggy bank.

@netthawk5635 Many thanks for your comment. When you say the World Economic Forum do you mean The Bilderberg Group, or Bohemian Grove, or The Club of Rome, or The Illuminati, or The Freemasons? Think tanks have been around since the beginning of time and yes to a certain degree they can influence how a country is run, but all it takes is one leader to charge these organisations of treason if they went too far, or the leader of a country could be voted out at the next election if they sucumbed. The most open "club" of these type is beleive it or not the EU. It's so open that only Farage could see it and through him the referendum was made. At the end of the day it's down to decisions made by politicians that can either make a country better or worse. The last administration disappointed so much they were trounced. It appears that this administration is heading for the same direction. But that's another story.

@elliotlambert3817 Many thanks for your comment. The increase in revenue needed by the government is to prop up a bloated government. The government is employing far too many people in jobs that don't really mean anything, so for example the vast majority of middle managers in the NHS are not needed. How do we know? Well before these middle managers were flown in the NHS trundled along quite nicely thank you very much. If we look further afield we can see how bloated governments can get. Let's look at President Milei of Argentina. He dissolved HALF of the government posts and reduced public expenditure by just under 50% the very next day. Donald Trump says if elected Elon Musk will be hired to weed out all the wastage of the US government. That's what is needed, somebody who can't be bought and who knows how to trim without losing quality of a product. The UK government needs to do something like that, but of course, they won't.
