For all you pretend underwear fighterpilots that dont know their ass from a hole in the ground here is a thing you need to internalize that will help you fly any plane. When the plane is clean and no flaps are applied and the plane is going at a cruise speed above appoximately 300knots, the throttle acts as a go fast go slow lever. You push forward and you go faster etc. When the plane is slowed and flaps are down, the throttle acts as a higher lower lever. If you throttle back the plane sinks right away and when you push in power it climbs or at least slows the descent. You need to switch your understanding of this as you change speed ranges. None of you know what you are doing.

I have the same problems as you do while trying to learn the phantom. The throttle response for glideslope is far too slow while stick inputs have direct consequence on speed and AoA. Gotta get good, I guess

Exactly. Constant corrections on trim/stick and throttle are crucial. Most importantly, it will eventually sits in mind, and after a while, you'll see you're nailing it right with a natural muscle memory.

@@FD1CE No man, no music please! your video is great... except for the music; in these specific videos we enjoy the sound of explosions, airplane engines, and sonic booms. All of that makes them somehow _"immersive."_ But that's just a suggestion, it's your channel and we can also enjoy the videos with music to some extent.

Not sure If I have rendering issues on my game but the textures don't look good at the distance at all like this, very blurry as If they got really crappy filtering, despite max settings. Only look good If I pan the camera around.

Good old times, never could run this again since WinXP though. Somehow your speed tape seems to be kph compared to the gauge which is why you were struggling.

I haven't heard about "velocity vector pointing at the middle of the runway"... I presume he means pointing the FPV(Flight Path Vector).

It has generally different names for a same thing. I guess it's officially FPM (Flight Path marker), commonly referred to as VV or Velocity Vector.

@@FD1CE Well you are almost there. The --0-- marker in real aircrafts like Boeing family or Falcon jets, is called FPV. It is an angular indicator, and not realy related to velocity. Among others It helps you compensate for headwind/tailwind and crosswind though during approach. Very handy tool for IFR manual flight ;-)

What the game never told us was how to actually flare an aircraft while landing. How we're supposed to use the throttle to control altitude and use the stick to control airspeed. And no mention of how to sideslip the aircraft to line it up with the runway either!

No it didn't but Janes FA with carrier missions did teach this, except with the Harrier which was way different to land.

@@manofwarb I didn't own/play any high fidelity sims, just casual ones. I still own original Falcon 3.0 that came with large spiral bound book but only played a couple times before going back to Janes FA/USAF and other brands. I just enjoyed the flying action and didn't want to spend hours to know every detail of an aircraft.

Good job 👍 the hover and floating thing that’ll come with practice soon you’ll read the ils (never chase the vertical one ⬆️) and you’ll be rotating and wheels touching perfectly 🎉. Great flying buddy for example where you were a little low you found yourself lifting at times to get down. When low don’t worry about the vertical ils or chasing it up just remain straight and true as it’ll always come down to meet you. 😊
