You are really good, very nice job! I started on drum pads, music stand as a Hihat, and cymbals and pillows. It’s nice to have a drum set !

Thank you so much for sharing! I grew up on 192 on Decatur Ave until 1965. We had to move because some 'new' folks broke into our apartment and freaked out my poor Irish Immigrant mother. I went to OLM for 1st Grade, the sisters were wonderful. We went to Poe park as well. When I got older went to the bar that was just off the Concourse and in an oval shaped block by Poe Park. And of course, the old K&R bar by Fordham and Webster. Best wishes!

It is you. I just viewed your range video. It was hard to see your face at the end but I recognized you. Remember me? If no, no prob. If yes, how the hell are you Pat?
@Hogrider0612 жыл бұрын
If you are, remember Red? That's me. How about Paddy Hartnett, Harold, Crazy Smitty, Craig Ferguson, Kevin, Piro? Getting old can't remember too many names. Paddys basement club house? Cases of black label beer for I think it was $2.00? Yeah, I named us the Briggs Boys because we had a pretty big crew including the girls back then and did some crazy stuff. You guys helped move my family out to "Joisey" in 1976.

Wow - I grew up on 192nd & Creston! Your video brought back so many memories. My scully cap was perfection (lots of melted crayons to get it just right). I remember OLM recess playing johnny on the pony and ringoleavio. Don't forget pitching pennies and excellent games of tag on the monkey bars in St James Park.....!! Thank you!

@bronxboy2141 lol - scully, ringoleavio, off-the-point, johnny on the pony, I have a buddy from the Bronx who belongs to the same American Legion as I do and we always talk about playing these games as a kid. The others that are sitting around the bar ask "what are you guys talking about?" Since they all grew up in New Jersey it's funny to see their reactions, especially describing johnny on the pony. Scully was one of my favorites street games. I also had the multi-colored melted crayon cap.

I tried to explain scully to a few people...lol....I still remember melting the different color crayons into the bottle caps.

@zzzarkka yes, I like Keynote. I like how the charts and graphs look, clean and sharp. But I recently upgraded to PowerPoint 2010 and Microsoft is finally starting to get PPT right. It is some great features that are worth checking out.

@arpeggio15 - smoke is stock footage with alpha channel (background transparent). I inserted as a Quicktime movie, sized it to the height & width of the photo, and gave it a Build In Effect > Appear. It has a delay of .5 seconds. Next, you will see the logo and all text appear. The smoke movie is still playing as the logo and text appear and needs to finish playing to end this slide and move to the next. I added a Build Out > Disappear to the smoke movie which is the last Build Order.
@Hogrider0613 жыл бұрын
@DarkEagleX9 - the bolt is a stock photo with the background removed in Photoshop and saved as a transparent PNG file. The bolt will have a 2 step animation, Build In (Wipe) & Build Out (Disappear) Animate the bolt in the Build menu > Build In Effect: Top to Bottom Wipe with a duration of .10 > Build Out Effect: Disappear.

@hibiscusfreak Hi hibiscusfreak - Moved out in 1976. I lived right up the block from Alexanders department store on Fordham. We lived directly across from St. James Park. The park was great we played all kinds of sports there when I was growing up, basketball, roller hockey, football and softball. It was like our big playground just for us kids that lived around there.

hey hibiscusfreak - I lived at 2558 Creston. The Bronx was great in the 60's and 70's. Many memories living there when I was growing up.

Hey @ruudjemulder yeah it's still a tourist area, especially if you like to shop on Fordham Rd. Also, the Bronx Zoo isn't too far from here either. There's also tours available - more info at i love the bronx dot com

I went to OLM too, and graduated in '70. I wouldn't have known you because as you remember, the girls and boys were segregated. The only times we were with the boys was when Fr. Gorman took us on skating trips, and at the 8th grade dance!

Hi Kelly - How ya doing? How's your brothers? I remember your dad coaching the OLM Terriers and Bulldogs. Wow, time certainly flies. Hey, is that your son Matthew playing guitar? If he is, he's fantastic! I viewed his videos and it's great to see someone his age keeping the classics alive - he's very talented tell him to keep playing he's great. Yeah, the Bronx was full of some great memories from our neighborhood back then. Anyway take care and thanks for stopping by. Jim

Tommy Jays/Leinster House huh? :D You might be able to reconnect with the OLR kids from back then nowadays... Theres a pretty big group on facebook with a lot of us.. A direct link probably wont work, so just search for "Our Lady of Refuge- Bronx (196 St. and Briggs Ave.)" to find it... "Our lady of refuge" should be enough to search on, but theres two groups...

I like the Bronx too. I have spent much time along Fordham Road and 187th and Belmont. Those areas defy change and are cool to visit. Best egg creams in New York: Mt. Carmel Confectionery about 187th near Belmont, same side on 187th as the Church.
