Entertaining, but I don't get it. Why convert a Land Rover in this manner? Why not just buy or perform a van conversion. Your camper cannot be removed so what's the point of having an off-road champion vehicle underneath it? The height, width, weight and center-of-gravity penalties severely limit off-road capability so why waste the time and money of a Land Rover conversion?

i can see what your saying , it was hard to cut it up. a camper van would not go where i can take this and it would be too expensive anyway . camper trailers are terrible if you get lost and have to turn arond on a track. if you take a look at my channel you will see i also have a 1988 range rover, a 1973 swb series 3 and recently a 105 landcruser all of which get used off road. the range rover is the best off road but it has fuel range disadvatage.

Obviously Australia has a lot of nice empty beaches but the outback appears totally featureless. For me mountains are the way.

Yes, we visited in March. The flies were shocking on the last 2 days. It was pretty windy and didn't get to take the tinny out at all. I think next month would be good! 😊

Looks like paradise. I hope to visit before Nov. Did you visit in March? The weather and water look a bit calmer than I've seen in other vids. Thanks for sharing and for providing your trip info😊

@@carolyndavis4517therefore, instead of turning on the center-to-center lock, did this "cool SUV👎😄" use a winch?

Some rough trails in WA. A camper that can handle them is not so common(unless Unimog). What's the all up weight? Looks like the fabricators managed to keep the box weight pretty small.

Given how brutal the tracks are in WA this minimalist approach is needed. Even the laptop bag is suspended. Only things I'd change is sticking another fuel tank underneath. And I tend to put rollcages on landies. Wish I had that engine.

Mark Alexander it was june, and the whole trip was 7 weeks including one week to and back from perth, a lot of jugling and a tollerant family, we use to go ten days without any restocking but now it is only six as the kids eat more
