Get some oil or conditioner. Part some of it with your fingers. Work small sections with a brush.

My problem with .y daughter hair for the last couple days.same type of hair.

My hair is just as bad if not much worse, I need help. I'm on five-six months of not brushing it, my scalp is insanely sensitive, any light tug nearly makes me cry- so brushing it feels like my scalp is being ripped off, I don't know what to do.

as a licensed cosmetologist....a comb on dry hair is not really a good choice. Water, heavy conditioner, wet/dry brush and repeat. When I say water, I talking about water in the shower running over the tangle as you brush.
