@@RCTaildraggini believe the radian is what i will be getting and thanks to you for actually showing what can be done with carbon to stiffen it up. I can't fly where i live because it's a landing path for the major airport by me. I have found a couple places to fly and just don't see myself using the lights on it because it's usually morning weekends that i go to the field. I wish they still made the xl or a version with out the lighting.

Two differant beasts. The night Radian is an awesome plane but it's flown typically like a glider.. power up, climb, and sail around. The Evolution has more performance, its 4 channel and i typically fly that one power on all the time, unless I want to coast at bit. I like both planes equally but I fly the Evolution more..

@@RCTaildraggin the radian seems flimsy in the videos It seems like it can't take much wind either. I'm considering one or the other and wish the radian had ailerons. The evolution seems more like a plane and a hot rodded one on 4s.

This looks like one version of a mini saw listed unbranded on Amazon for $40. I ordered a different version with enclosed sides for $70 + $10 shipping+ tax which came to $86. It should be here in a week or two. Just thought it would convenient for cutting short boards with a nominal thickness of one inch or less. These little saws look dangerous. I noticed your finger came frighteningly close to the blade as you removed a piece before the blade fully stopped. If I have to explain why I'm missing the tip of a finger to people, I want to tell them my big bad 10 inch did it. 😊

I'm waiting for my new E-flite Night Radian, and I watch a lot of videos so I can improve it before the maiden flight. I'm really considering metal servos and I might place some thin carbon rods into the wings. I heard that if you apply a little speed to the props before landing, it will create a lot of drag and slow down the plane. Something else I've been thinking of is to make extension cables for the wings, so I don't have to fish them out of the hole every time I want to fly. You have a lot of great videos. Subbed and liked.

I love that electric glider, even thought once I had a bad landing, a weak spot/joint I the tail opens a d Crack the other side. Then stabilizers are attached just with a small included piece of tape. After that repair I did, reinforcing that weak spot, I play a lot on windy days. One of those days I went to a different place. This time I didn't trow against the wind, but sidewinder. A strong gust got it when nit was climbing and took it far behind me and some high trees. I searched it for two days with two .Mavic 2 Zoom and pro, but couldn't find it. Very sad for the lost.

Hi , i did a simple 2 channel conversion. After seeing videos it seemed simple and cheap. But there is a problem i found. If the plane banks too far the gyro tries to compensate ( came out of drone) then when it can't the one motor cuts out and won't recover and crash.
@RCTaildraggin

The only problem I had was it needed a lot of right thrust, it took all right rudder to keep it going straight until I added more. To help it turn right I also had to reduce the throttle.

Does the firewall assemble with any down or right thrust when all the pieces are jigged together? I have one of these to build and I’m going to set it up for a 52 4-stroke nitro. Do I need to offset the engine to the left of the centerline and shim the left mount for right thrust?
@HomesteadnVA
@HomesteadnVA Жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, it's been a minute since I built this plane, honestly I can't remember if the right thrust is jigged in or not, bit it would certainly need to be. If the nose goes together square, then yes I would definitely add some washers on the left side (looking from the cockpit)..
@Jon_Flys_RC
@Jon_Flys_RC Жыл бұрын
I pulled out the firewall from my kit, too bad youtube won’t let you put photos in the comments. The cross marks on the firewall are offset to the (cockpit) left so the crank is on centerline. I won’t know if it jigs at an angle or I will have to shim the mount but it won’t matter either way since the offset is there.
@Jon_Flys_RC
@Jon_Flys_RC 11 ай бұрын
Just a follow up. I started my build and once you pull out the two fuselage sides you can see they are cut the same for the firewall tabs, there is no built in thrust angle. Because I’m building mine with a .52 4-stroke I moved the firewall back about 2 1/2” and trimmed piece F-12 and also cut new holes for the firewall tabs. To fit a 10oz tank I will have to trim some of the battery tray of F-1-1 and F-2 for the tank width but I wanted the full strength of the fuselage built up before I trimmed it. I also pre-glued the front and back fuselage sections so they were set with a straight edge. I mixed and matched as one way fit up tighter on the dovetails than the other. I thought it might be a bit flimsy for nitro power but as I added the stringers and sheeting it’s ending up being a pretty stout fuselage.

It's a hobbyist saw, it will cut no where near the thickness or hardness of ordinary wood. It will bog down and stop if you try anything more than hobby (balsa) plywood..

You might not be sad but I feel for you brother, unless you’re absolutely loaded with cash it’s still a disappointment. I agree with the foam density because a lot of foam craft would have send bits and beads of foam everywhere, but not so. I know by now as this is a year ago you will have fixed it by now. If I was doing the repair I would be very tempted to add two more carbon rods like it already has. Can’t see the weight being an issue and it might,(or might not ) have saved it from snapping.
