As of January, I tried to book the VY train tickets from VY website for my trip in May. It still said that the ticket is not on sale yet. But you said we can book the tickets 6 months in advance. Which website did you use ? It’s same as the train tickets from Oslo to Bergen is not opened to sale yet.

Why didn't you do any of the filming during the four hours of civil twilight? You're trying to make people think that it's dark 24/7 during polar night
@TheHiddenNorthАй бұрын
Hey! Not trying to make people think that at all. This was filmed when I was on the Hurtigruten northbound, and when we dock at 2:15pm in December it's dark outside.

Thanks for sharing. I've been to Tromsø on a few occasions at different seasons. I love Tromsø. BTW, the film being projected on the back wall of the Polar Museum is actual footage taken on Roald Amundsen's South Pole expedition. It was a drag show put on for light entertainment. Roald was not opposed to the men form mutual bonds for warth and companionship.

It is very disapointing that the village Sirevåg is not mentioned at all in your story about Jæren!

It’s oversold attraction. Don’t bother. You can walk and see Norway which is beautiful in every corner . No need to spend a hefty amount for this rail journey.. it’s a typical tourist trap. Whole thing around Flam, it’s cruise terminal is built for cruise passengers to shop and take them on some quick trips

Great video! Very informative, but I must ask, is Svalbard outside the Schengen area? As a US citizen currently I only have 90 days in Norway. If Svalbard is outside the Schengen Area agreement, are there employment and housing agencies to help one find employmennt/housing? I do better in the cold than California heat, that's why I love Tromsø. I hope you were equipped with polar bear protection. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to your nighttime video.
@TheHiddenNorth7 ай бұрын
Hey! So Svalbard is not part of Schengen, but to get to Svalbard you must pass through Oslo, which is part of Schengen. It is very tough to find housing in Svalbard and you typically have to have your employer provide housing if you go there.
