It can but many dogs live through it if the owner took them to the vet. A vet will either tell you to have them throw it up or wait it out. Most dogs recover within a day or 2. I don't blame the owners though. Dogs have a tendency of getting into stuff even if you put in the trash or somewhere you think they can't get it.

I know of a dog who ate a quarter ounce of decarboxilated cannabis that had been turned into canna butter. The extracted remains were tossed in the garden to be recycled as mulch. However, the dog ate it and was lethargic for 2 days. Dogs don't get high they lose muscle control and coordination.
