Good issue! As to the "Cool Cats", in my musclecar days, I was definitely a "Faddist"! I'd buy the various gadgets and nicknacks to personalise my Javelin, AMX or Firebird, depending on the year. 😅
@SodakModelcarsII28 күн бұрын
Thanks Lance! Hard for me to answer because it depends on the vehicle I owned. I suppose I'd be somewhere between the Dabbler and Faddist with my Station wagon by Putting Woodgrain racing stripes to match the sides and glass etching flames into the windows (big stereo). And some other cars that I only cared about what the engine could do.

The Barris shop fire.....tragic The Alabama Carte just survived it, although it suffered engine fire around '64. The RnC Dream Truck also was totaled later in '58, being flat towed to a car show when tow vehicle had a blowout.

That is a cool Chevy @14:34 - I love how he used 2 sets of 1956 Chevy side trim (One set flipped upside down, or reversed from left side to right side) to make that awesome looking upswept trim and then to paint those flames in there puts the finishing touch on the project.

I especially like the artist's redesign articles as they give great inspiration for model car builds.
@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarageАй бұрын
One thing that might help you out on making these videos would be to buy or build an overhead camera mount. You can look up how to build one on KZbin...I did and I made mine from some scrap plywood and 2" x 2" pine boards...and screws...a lot of screws! That way, you can hold the magazine down on the flat table and turn the pages without having to pick it up and move it around under the camera lens.
@SodakModelcarsIIАй бұрын
I can do that now, but then it's a static distance, and I would have to really force the magazine flat, which is hard on the old paper and spines.

I am glad you are showing these little old magazines. I have a bunch in my collection, but there are always a few I am missing. - If I ever need an article, would you read and show it on video for all of us?
@SodakModelcarsIIАй бұрын
If there's something specific I can see what I can do or I can email pics if ever needed.

I saw the red eraser truck 13:00 about ten or fifteen years ago. They were using it as a push/service vehicle for the vintage dragster they were racing at a nostalgia event. It was quite a rig!

The best issue you have shared with us to date. Okay, I'm a bit biased, I was born in July of 1958. I've had a couple of go carts in my short life. Great fun to run around on. That 4 door car proves that anything can be cool with the right mind doing the mods on it. Thanks for sharing this.
