Boss vid and brilliant explanation. Could you outline your cymbal setup for me. I have only got hi-hat and ride at the moment.

You transcribed the intro wrong. Ringo doesnt play any cymbals crash or hihat in the intro but plays the same pattern just with his right hand on the snare drum. so 8th notes on snare drum with right hand plus the left hand: 2 and 4 pattern for a bar, then the rolly fill pattern. listen to the track and watch ringo on ed sullivan; leading on the snare

Gosh yes you are definitely right there massive over sight by me, and such a great shout thanks for pointing that out! Guess I’ve heard the song so many times I did properly listen to the intro. This is what it’s all about getting input and encouraging listening and feedback so thanks!

Are you supposed to open the hi hat on the opening fill
@ThomMillsDrumsАй бұрын
Yes, it slowly opens ever so slightly sorry should have made a note of that, but a great point out as very important to the part and one of the main reasons this part is so great!!
@johnd2371Ай бұрын
Hi guys. Most of the elements are good here and overall I enjoyed your cover. But please fix the 3 vocal levels. Lead vocalist is LOUD, second vocalist too quiet and muffled, third vocal almost inaudible. That is the kind of attention to detail that separates pros from the others. Keep Rockin'.....you have a good sound and plenty of talent!
@ThomMillsDrumsАй бұрын
That’s for the pointers, although it was all recorded live like a proper gig so didn’t give us much options in the mix, thanks for watching though

Nice to hear a real live drum track. The verse section is a little like a Bossa Nova side stick but with a Rock feel. Your video really makes me appreciate and understand the musical importance of a drummer and his or her contribution to a song.

I feel number 7 was one of the songs in Dirty Dancing... chorus goes "be my, be my baby (be my little baby), my one and only baby" or something like that. Can't remember the artist, but it's a woman. This one and no.6 were the only ones I knew I knew in the end 😂
