Ooh, I love the movie "Enchanted"! I need to add Robert and Giselle to my collection, Edward too... (I haven't seen Disenchanted, I was tempted but heard mixed reviews and then just never got around to it - but I did wish that movie would have given us dolls of Nancy and Morgan so I could collect them too!) It actually makes so much sense to have Giselle in a different dress from anything she wore in the movie, because I bet once she settled into New York, she was making and buying SO many new dresses....

I've watched A Thousand Splendid Dolls too! I really like their videos, although I haven't watched as many as I'd like because I usually don't have time for longer ones. I think they took a break from posting for a while, and then started again - I'm pretty sure I've seen new videos from them more recently. It's such a neat coincidence, anyway, that you reviewed these two dolls, because I just saw a post very recently about the Tuptim doll and became curious about the movie! What was the story about? Did you like it? Is it anything to do with the other "The King and I" movie, the live-action one that I think also has a Broadway musical version?

Yes, that one I heard!😂 I wondered if someone was pushing a heavy cart full of doll parts behind you or something. I remember Quest For Camelot was a really good movie; Kayley looks great, in a determined, cartoony kind of way! Garrett's hair is exactly why I prefer molded-on hair for male dolls.... Maybe because Garrett is blind, his hairdresser figured he couldn't see his haircut anyway - that would be such a mean trick to play. His feet look so strange - like he was walking in a pile of blueberries or something, but that all adds to the charm!

I always like when the clothing pieces are detachable; it makes it feel so much more realistic! I also love the starry eyes. I wonder why they don't do that so much with dolls anymore?

That's very resourceful, how you found a body and crown and necklace and suit for Anastasia and Dimitri that suit them! I think I was getting two parts of the movie mixed up, because it wasn't until you said Anastasia had a ponytail in this scene that I remembered her bun was with a different outfit... I must refresh my memory on all the outfits she wears! I would love to see your Dolls of the World collection. That was actually a line I've been curious about; it would be so fun to go on a mini world tour via Barbie dolls.

Ah, the adventure of finding clothes for naked secondhand dolls! I was lucky - my Jasmine doll came without clothes, but I happened to have a full set of Jasmine clothes lying around the house. That Jane doll is so pretty, and Tarzan looks really good, too. I hope you do get Tarzan's clothes one day - and John Smith's, too!

Kida and Milo translate really well to doll form! I didn't even know they made dolls of these two - though I'll admit, I don't actually know a lot about "Atlantis: the Lost Empire". I cannot understand why Disney wouldn't make classic dolls of the characters, though. If it were me and my characters, I'd be taking full advantage of a franchise like the Disney Princesses to bring some love to the more underrepresented ones!

Hercules really does look just like in the movie! I bet he's got extra articulation so that you can put him in cool heroic action poses. I would love to see your dolls posed with those little accessories if you do take them out!

This is definitely a set I want! Esmeralda and Phoebus are a great couple, and I love their movie, and I feel like you can't go wrong with these early Mattel dolls. I never mind when male dolls have molded-on hair, because I feel like it sometimes holds the style better when the hair is so short. I do wonder why the male dolls had less articulation, though!

Mulan's one of my favourite Disney movies too! I love those golden chopstick things in her hair; I feel like she could pull them out and fight with them if necessary! I also absolutely love that cutout. I think it is supposed to recall the scene where she's getting ready to see the matchmaker, but I also thought it couldn't possibly be that, because in the movie Mulan was not putting on her own makeup! I love how it provides all kinds of inspiration to imagine what she is getting ready for this time. I like the thought that she's getting ready for a date with Shang, and that's why she looks so happy. Or maybe, because of how regally the doll is dressed, she's getting ready to meet with the Emperor!

She is very similar to my vintage Pocahontas I love the screening as well, nice review 🥰

Jasmine is gorgeous! I agree, she might just be the prettiest in the lineup (although I'd probably say that no matter what since she's my favourite princess). I also like how they went with a dress for Jasmine, so she would blend in with the rest of the lineup but also look like herself - I'm pretty sure the style is based on the gown she wears in the movie, the lilac one from when she's about to get married to Aladdin and then Jafar comes in to take over Agrabah. Funnily enough, I don't think I ever had one of these dolls, but I do have a Barbie necklace exactly like the one this Jasmine doll is wearing - my own Jasmine doll is wearing it right now! A lot of my Barbie stuff was secondhand from my cousin - maybe she had this Jasmine. (And, yes, if I know Abu, he is definitely stealing himself a piece of cake! And I would definitely join him.)

I particularly love Ariel's eye makeup! I like the brightly coloured eyeshadows myself, so it's always nice to see the princesses rocking them. (I think it's normally the villains who wear bright eyeshadow 😅). I also love how they went with mainly purple for her - I adore Ariel's pink gown, but for her, a purple dress represents finally getting to be part of the human world! Not to mention it REALLY compliments her hair.

I've never noticed loud noises in the background of your videos, don't worry! Belle looks so beautiful, just like a princess. I think the pink was a really good choice they made; it brings out her lipstick and her earrings and it's just such a good colour on her. (The little straps look like something I would have cut off when I was a child, and then I'd have found out if the dress really does stay on without them!) I tried to comment on your Ariel video last night, but it looks like the comments got turned off somehow?

I love how they sort of combined all her movie outfits, giving her the pink and blue dress, with that particular pointy collar and peplum and the long sleeves, and then gave her a headband like she wears in her Briar Rose outfit. I also like how her eyes here are obviously purple!

Oh my gosh, is this not the absolute most beautiful Cinderella doll I have ever seen! Her face, her dress... I especially like how they gave her some pink in her gown, because my very favourite Cinderella look is her pink one. I really like hearing you give the other side of the argument for articulated vs non-articulated dolls. Mostly I hear collectors wishing their dolls were more articulated, and while I understand the advantages, I can never quite get why it's such a big deal if every single joint doesn't move. Maybe that's because I also collect figurines that don't have any movable parts at all!

She is so sweet, I never saw these on our shelves here in Australia. In saying that I did have a few years that I wasn't collecting dolls for a while and might have missed it. Love the colours she is wearing it's different and a nice change. I have to say that Cinderella is my favourite Princess. 💕❤️💞

I remember seeing these dolls before! My favourite thing is how their dresses use colours the princesses actually wear in their movies, but combine them in new ways. But I had no idea there was a playset to go with these too!! That makes it like a whole little story, like the princesses really did go to a party together and like we're invited too - and the ring in the present box is the best little touch, like Snow White is gifting it to us! Snow White has the sweetest face, too... I think I really do need these dolls!

Ooh, I would totally wear those jeans too! She is one of the simplest dolls - I might at least have put a snowflake on the cell phone, but then maybe our Elsa fan just has a subtler style. (If she's afraid of expressing herself too much in her sense of style, maybe that's one of the ways she relates to Elsa!)

I love that this doll came with a mini Pascal! You can give it to your Rapunzel doll now, and have it be her actual Pascal - or make it that Marcella has a special Pascal doll. I wonder, if the Rapunzel inspired dolls' eyes all have that same texture, if it was deliberate? Like maybe it was meant to imply she has some vision difficulties? Especially since she did come with glasses? I don't know.

Rosalie is a great name for a Belle fan, especially with her outfit being so much inspired by the enchanted rose. It's really cool when the outfits involve the actual character, though I also really like when they incorporate any clever movie details. But I think they really do have to make some of that character clothing into full-sized human clothes. Can you imagine how popular they would be!
