Looks good. What was the total cost including the lighting, flooring and labour? When you say contractors do you mean self-employed ones who work for any number of kitchen companies or are the fitters actually employed and properly accountable to Shepherds? Thanks

Bought one a month or so ago despite this review. After owning many kettles in my 76 years I am happy to say this is the best one I've ever owned - and though the most expensive ever, worth every penny. Yes the pouring rate is slow, but it stops me overfilling things and slows my heart rate as I wait patiently for it to empty!

Tip. Buy a Tesco special for a tenner. If it fails you almost certainly will be able to repair it yourself or just buy another one.. With the Dualit you will have to return it to their service department.. The combined switch/element unit will almost certainly need replacing at a cost of £54 ( as of January 2024) and you will be without a kettle for about 3 weeks.

Thanks so much for saving me the headache and expense of buying this kettle. I had - mistakenly - thought it would be the same standard as the Dualit toaster.

We had one of these for about 2 years . Totally useless! Very bad handle design, you burn your hand with steam as you pour out the water , and it’s very difficult to hold on to. Ours lasted 2 years and then burned itself out . AVOID

Mine is still going strong like the toaster seven years later.

Might be a noob question cos my gear is old. But how does the camera mount and pole not show?

Put the kettle under the tap before turning the tap on.

Normally would agree but I only had one hand spare for this demo due to phone in the other. This also happens on other days when I make tea and am on the phone etc.

Fantastic review. Looking to buy a quiet kettle. This helped a lot. Shame they haven’t put as much effort into their kettle as they have their toaster

Only issue that I found relevant to me was the pouring issue. Hmmm. A kettle this expensive should not have issues with pouring. Thank you for the demo.

I nearly bought this and then read your review. I have opted for another kettle. Not impressed. by the kettle.

Would you mind telling me if it's cool, warm or hot on the outside after it's just boiled?
@DavidBridgeTechnology9 жыл бұрын
+Natasha J Its hot. Very hot. This kettle does not have thermal walls. Previous to this I had a Magimix thermal-walled kettle and you could lift it up in your hands whilst it was on the boil which was a great peace of mind with small children. It was a great kettle apart from the lids kept breaking and after the fourth one in as many years I gave up on it and bought this one. Then I got rid of it straight away on account of the poor pouring ability. It just fills the work surface with boiling water. The spout is useless and without features like thermal walls it just isn't worth the high price tag. Fast boil but not as quiet as the manufacturer claims (probably on account of the lack of thermal walls).

Thanks David, very helpful. I'll be on the hunt for thermal walls alongside everything else that has to match up, not an easy find.

My apologies to anyone who watched this video with a load of shaky captions. This was due to the people at KZbin messing about with it. They thought the original was shaky so they stabilized it. Yeah - go figure. Apparently they are putting the original back now so should be ok soon. It looked great last night but this morning its was all messed up so I think it might take a while to fix

Ah fair enough, theres a nice bump on the entry to that corner so i admit it gets the kart up a bit. Nice drive :) Those karts were a handful, kept your muscles working!
@DavidBridgeTechnology12 жыл бұрын
On the first lap it was just a mistake. Trying too hard but boy did I have to try even harder afterwards. I was knackered at the end.
@ChrisPease2713 жыл бұрын
What happened on the final corner? you just sorta....spun round? did you get a bump or was it just a mistake? Floodlit Wigan is brilliant its a completely different style of racing at night especailly at Wigan when you cant sight the braking zones. Good race! The new karts arent as good as those old ones like :/

Sorry but I dont know what you mean by taree so I assume not. Is thta a place. If so then definitely no. Its in Wigan, Greater Manchester, UK. Its a great track. Lookup Three Sisters race track in You tube to see it in the day.
