In the early 90s, just after high school, I bought a 1970 3/4 ton camper special 4x4 from the original owner for $600. I put 100,000 miles on it and sold it for the same amount of money. This truck is still running, folks. We used to know how to make an automobile! The good times are over.

Due to the BABVVO and TEBBVO laws, all petrol cars will unfortunately soon be banned from public streets in the EU, CH USA and Scandinavia :-( In Germany, the Green People's Party has given the order to shorten the fuel supply from 2025 by reducing all conventional gas stations to just one state-run central gas station per city or county Now they even want to slow down all gas pumps by 20 liters per minute to 2 liters per minute... From 2027, some car spare parts will also be banned in the EU... such as exhaust systems, turbochargers and even some engine and gearbox oils. .. California and New York will do the same from 2027... So no more investing in petrol cars... They even created a new type of crime here called emissions and smoke crime . "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung" BABVVO in Germany and HESCHLAVVO in Switzerland!!!!!!!!!!

If you upgrade to a 1954 International pickup you can get electric instead of vaccum operated wiper motors. You lose the carteridge filter that uses a sock for the filter element. I was wondering if possibly the polarity was reversed on the temperature gauge, but I noticed the guage was pegged before you turned on the ignition. Perhaps the circuit is getting power before the switch is turned on, or the gauge is broke. Try unplugging the gauge to see if it moves. If it drops to the other end it is getting power all the time and polarity is reversed. I believe originally the system was 6volt with positive ground, but probably everything you find today has been converted to 12volt negative ground.

Has the whole truck, interior and everything, been refurbished?
@toddpilcher5173

The exterior has. The interior has where it is needed (new door cards, headliner, etc), but kept original where could. Engine runs great, and has a lot of new work done, but has not been painted.

Whoa, those body panels are perfect. The reflection doesn't lie. There had to be rust at least on the lower parts of the body panels. It is a Scout. Someone did a great job on the preparation. Then all the details are well done. I tend to prefer the Scout II, but this restoration has me liking the earlier version just as much now. It is not too often we get to see these early ones looking so good. Great job. Thanks for showing it off. You have a gem.

Bro you are pointing out little details like small blemishes on a 35 year old truck that nobody cares about lol, not being rude but people care about the engine, mileage, undercarriage and history. It could be primer grey with a dented in bed and still have just as many views.
