So part of this is Operator Error. The instructions say wash COLD for the first wash. I treated it like bedding (it is a king size fitted bed sheet) and washed it warm 😅

Hello 👋🏾 and Happy Sunday sewing 🪡 I’m still fairly new to the sewing community and have never understood the use or purpose of Muslin fabric but, I’ve been seeing it mentioned a lot lately. Is it possible you can do a short 5-10 minute video explaining what this is and the purpose behind it?
@blackwomenstitch3484
@blackwomenstitch3484 18 күн бұрын
@@truthhurts-365 Hello 👋🏿 Just to respond quickly: muslin is a type of inexpensive cotton fabric. It’s good for samples and checking the fit of a garment before using your “good” fabric.

I loove special presser feet, Lisa. I sewed for 40 years before I bought an entire collection/kit, and started really using them. I think I did have a Teflon foot for silks in the 1980s. I learned to sew in 1965. But the kit I bought in the ‘00’s included a walking foot and that changed so much!

Hello! Thanks SEW much for listening!! I think that I will have to return to the topic. There are lots of new needles to explore! The quilting needle has a thin shaft that's perfect for both piecing and machine quilting through all the quilt layers without causing any damage. It comes in sizes 75/11, 80/12, and 90/14, and you can spot it by the green color stripe.
