You can buy the connectors now. Probably because so many people like you told them they were wrong. Just installed it on my DR650 so I can trickle charge or jump start without removing the seat. Not correcting you, commenting for the algorithm! Thanks for the video.

The dr650's are an extremely capable bike. Ive had every single nut and bolt off of mine and back on, its the purple frame they only made for 2 years. I would advise either re valving the front forks or purchasing rmz forks either the 250 or 450 from 2001-2004. Showa 40mm i believe larger than the 37's and way more responsive. Youll also need the steering stem off your original dr forks to swap on the triple tree of the showas. New bearings from alls balls racing i suggest. It isnt a track bike, but if you throw front and rear suspension upgrades on it youll see a major difference. Tm40 pumper carb is the last thing i would do if youre gonna mess with the engine.

Im going to order 14/43 which will give me 4 usable ratios. I will probably only use 3 as the 14/42 ratio would be hard on the chain/sprockets. The power stroke will always be on the same links/teeth

Man I put in some LED lights for the high beam on a scooter with an SAE plug in order to remove the plastic fairing the ligts were attached to, hadn't even thought about it shorting out if the male is sending power I guess we'll get a surprise when we remove the fairing and it shorts out the scooter 😂

I thought the same thing when I got my tail light. It looks like the right one. Give it a try. It fits in the hole perfectly if it’s from a DRZ 250. The wires are a perfect match.

Theres another grease I have found at Home depo in the Electrical aisle. Ox Guard, it has graphite in to "conduct" electricity. I think like you do! THX good video.

Hey man thanks for sharing, awesome content :) I have the same problem as you after buying mx boots for more protection. Can't feel the damn foot controls! Im constantly on the fence about getting adventure boots, but it seems you sacrifice almost all safety for comfort. Have you solved the issue some how?

When I changed mine my buddy kept his stock sprocket and we went out the only difference was his from start was quicker up to speed but what I gained at slow speed was worth it I could crawl with out squeezing the clutch the whole time. That was what I wanted. I've now done a bunch of the simple mods and it is a completely different bike now.

The lithium battery is a great upgrade on the DR. Another benefit is that they can sit all through the off season and lose very little charge.

Ice and snow can be brutal on a dirt bike. I dumped my DR on my first off road ride too. I was riding single track that I normally ride on my Yamaha WR250 and lost the front end in a muddy corner. Big difference between full knobby’s and dual sport tires. I’m afraid only studs were going to save you on that ice though. Enjoy your DR, they are a fantastic bike for adventure riding.

We did the same on our DR650 and the 14 / 42 tooth sprockets got it in the ballpark I like . First gear was a little fast and it still cruises easy at 60 mph

If you plan on doing anything resembling serious off road riding do not lower your pegs. You will greatly increase your chances of breaking your foot.

I've got a 2022 and have been slowly working through the usual mods. I just lowered my pegs last week and found getting the brake pedal lower and level with the peg is tricky. I think an aftermarket brake is needed to help clear the peg and get full compression of the brake. I look forward to seeing what you end up doing. As far as your channel name goes, I think its the best thing you got going for you just because all of these mods have been covered by numerous people already. The channel name is basically what everyone uses to search for this type of content. Not saying your content isn't good on its own but, you are getting traffic solely due to your channel name. Cheers to the DR650 man, it's a great bike!

This is great information. I am really surprised that Noco just didn't use standard SAE connectors. I did something similar but ran the wire to the rear rack and secured it with Velcro straps. It is great for battery tending and charging anything you might need to. Again, great info! Cheers!
