What would the nominal HP of this loco be? I know O&K used to quote their locos’ power outputs in sales brochures

Awesome! So its like a large version of a lister light railway loco? What capacity is it? Is it clutch and chain drive to the axles? We had asimular loco here in nsw australia for the local 2"3' quarrantine in manly. Jm

from the locomotives owner -Hi , you can refer him to our website, and this is the applicable page under rolling stock: www.gvlr.org.uk/rollstock/deutz10249.html All I can add is that the loco spent its entire working life at the Buttermere Green Slate co's Hodge Close quarry, www.visitcumbria.com/amb/hodge-close-quarry/

i thought i had ! your knowledge is obviously greater than mine . i probably should re edit - and upload this as i now realise that the panning in and out on moviemaker , reduces the quality of the images , and as these are the original paintings which the cards were printed from , they should be as sharp as possible

I woulda used the original beech hinge joint and hollowed in into the antler as even stabilized the antler core is pretty weak as its just too porous. its a beautiful piece just my thoughts from my exp using antler for fixed blade puko style knives :)

You're a lifesaver, Ive had one of these from my grandpa for years and just recently took an interest and got it working flawlessly with homemade gaskets but Im running out and they don't last, been trying to figure out what size replacement to get for the cartridge seal and couldn't find the information anywhere. I am now off to the hardware store. Cheers!

So there were no steps down?
@neonpike
@neonpike Жыл бұрын
there havent been any found - but recently a tunnel entrance has come to light at the side of the blast furnace , perhaps for loading the pig iron from that level into the largest of the shafts . perhaps steps will be found . it does seem odd that there was no way down from the surface - other than being lowered by rope

@@neonpike I have so many books on Butterley but there is very little about the canal tunnel and the "wide hole". I have seen the tunnel vents are still visible along the Coach Road, are they blocked off? Great model by the way.
@neonpike
@neonpike Жыл бұрын
@@rockfan3299 no if you get above , theres still water visible at the bottom . the first is behind butterley reservoir on a piece of flat land which used to be butterley sidings and warehouses , it has a flat grill and a handy viewing platform of bricks and rubble . the next is next to the coach road ( opposite side to the police Hq playing fields . this one is quite tall . i once saw a bunch of kids on top - one of them kindly took a photo down the shaft using my camera - and they didnt drop it down or anything ! water , and a lot of tree branches were in the water . theres a concrete piil box type structure next in line - nobody seems to know what this was . i suspect it could have something to do with repairs to the canal . the last vent towards golden valley is on private farm land so i know nothing about that one
