Hey man, I know this video is old but I’m staying at Gurkey Creek Campground this weekend and looking to ride. Is there a map of these specific trails? Or the names of them?
@SOCMTBR3 жыл бұрын
The ride leader was using Trailforks app for this ride. We heard from many riders that Hurkey Creek trail still closed from the last brush fire happened three years ago but you can get more info from the Ranger at the gate there. Have fun!

@@SOCMTBR Idyllwild Ride Leaving Hurkey Creek Park campsite => Coyote Run fire road => exfoliate trail => Bonita Vista Road => missing link => Rage Thru the Sage => Tunnel of Love => connector and back to Hurkey Creek Park. These are the names of the trails I was on based off of MTB Project app. This was my run at Idyllwild. Apparently I went against traffic on the first two trails up until Bonita Vista Road. Most of the time was spent by carrying my bike through brushes that were about 3-4’ high. Kept losing the trail, that just might be from me being at staying on trail but for sure the trails have not been maintained in a LONG time. Was fun, ~9mi the entire loop. Seems like everything is open again. Sorry for the very late reply.

Nice! How much harder is this in comparison to Rock-It or Lynx?
@SOCMTBR3 жыл бұрын
It’s chunkier and steeper. The GoPro point of view makes everything looks flat. It’s better to try 5 Oaks trail in Aliso before you try Car Wreck.

Are all the trails marked and is it easy to stay on the trail without getting lost? Thank you
@SOCMTBR3 жыл бұрын
All the trail are marked but honestly it’s better to go there with someone who had been there few times if you don’t want to get lost and you don’t want to be there in the dark unless you are well prepared for it.
