Some storage places go around and check to make sure all of the doors to the rented units are locked from the outside. If not, they lift the door and look inside. Can’t sleep in them. Depends on the place whether they check each unit for a lock at night. Would have to have someone lock you in and come back and open the door in the AM, if you trust them hahaha. A lot also have cameras and can see if a person never left the building. Even though at the one that I rent, a lady was on her phone inside her unit late at night. She emptied her unit soon after that night and moved.
