You can close the tailgate inside by pulling up on the switch and holding it. It will stop if you let go. The locking when leaving is not user friendly and agree with you being crazy

We just purchased one (pick up end of week). I’m hoping that glass isn’t that bad! We had a rock hit our ascent on a long trip a month ago and it just chipped it. With regards to the trunk, I read you could hold the trunk open button to close it. Also with locking it, can you not just touch the door handle on the ident to lock it once all the doors are closed and you have your fob on you? Thanks for the tip on the auto start/stop. I wonder if there is any positive other than fuel economy to use that, and how much fuel it even really saves. I didn’t care for the infotainment but when I looked at the new Subaru ascent they had done the same with all the touch except I think it did have dedicated buttons for hvac temp up and down. Everything else was on the display. I figured if I had to deal with it on the Subaru I was willing to switch brands to get the extra cargo room. Unfortunately seems all manufactures are going to the touch screens. I hope in the future we see buttons again, at least for basic hvac and volume controls.
@ExploreSide

I agree with you-it’s unfortunate that so many manufacturers are moving toward touchscreens and abandoning physical buttons. It just doesn’t feel as intuitive. The tailgate idea is interesting; I’ll give it a try. As for the window, I might have a defective one as well. A friend with the same model has the same issue, and it really does feel like a cheap window. I’ve also heard that if you find someone with an MDS tool, they can permanently disable the auto start-stop (ASS) feature. Personally, I’m not a fan of the engine shutting off at every red light, especially on a hot turbocharged engine, but that’s just my opinion.My local dealer wont do it i did ask hahaha Regarding the door locking, I usually have my hands full. I love how some vehicles automatically lock when you walk a short distance away-it’s a feature I really wish this one had. Thanks for the feedback!

Wish I was as lucky, bike does perform well, however I did fold it to transfer the bike on a trip and after that I’ve had nothing but problems, first my tail light headlight would turn on after it got dark in the garage, so I unhooked the cable to the headlight, otherwise my battery would drain, the second time I folded it my tail light had the same issue, the bike is not able to be on the kickstand and partially folded to keep the battery from being engaged. I have attempted to notify Heybike and have not heard back. Also I can’t get the app to track my rides, anyone else having these issues?

Yeah it's silicone so far zero leakage and relatively easy to clean you just need to get up in there once in awhile and stir up anything that's sticking to the silicone so it falls into the trash bin. But compared to a conventional litter box, its way better

As a new rider I'm trying to research when you would use the quickshift over the clutch or vice versa? It sounds like a great option for a learner as it means I can't really stuff up any gear changes, but I also wonder why you would ever bother using the clutch if you have a quickshifter?
@fredcdn
@fredcdn 11 ай бұрын
I’m a somewhat experienced rider, open licence for 15 years or so and my last bike was an Aprilia RSV4 Factory (without quick shifter) just to give you an idea on my experience and how I found the KTM 390 QS. It’s been about two years since I’ve ridden full time before I rode my new KTM 390 Adv for the first time on NYE a few days ago for about 200km/125mi. I found that the quick shifter was better (smoother) than me using the clutch on upshifts but I was still often better on downshifts. It made more of a difference on the downshifts because I had a passenger and being smooth prevents their helmet from smacking into the back of the riders. 😌 On the upshifts I need to practice/relearn not to ease off the throttle because the QS does the equivalent while changing gears and if using QS it’s better to just let it do all the work. Back to your question on using QS as a learner I think you would find it quite useful if you haven’t got much experience with a clutch, bike or car. You still need to use it when taking off and stopping but could shift using QS all the time while riding. One thing to keep in mind is if you ride another bike without QS you will have to remember and relearn to make sure you don’t just bang the gears from being used to the KTM QS. Sort of like I’m having to relearn not to use the clutch and adjust throttle from all the past bikes I’ve ridden.

No worries@@HondaWanderer that is going to be a great bike for you. I think I've had all Honda's before the Aprilia and now of course the KTM390Adv. Keep an eye on run out deals, it could save you quite a bit and you'll probably need the extra for gear you don't even realise you need / want yet :). I purchased my KTM 390 Adventure for $7890 (AUD) ride away in the past month or so in QLD. It was a 2021 model hence the runout price but feature wise it has everything I wanted and glad that I have extra to spend on changing wheels etc.

Thanks for this...not a whole lot different than some of my other KTM's... I keep hearing that KTM sets a rev limiter from the factory so the bikes don't get blown up during the "break-in" period. How do/did you get around it? Or does the Service Light Reset clear the rev limit?

No @JohnNewton the Quickshifter literally transforms the bike, it is especially great when riding off road where you are continually up and down shifting back between 1st to 3rd gear. On road it is nice when you are in stop and go situations with similar constant up and down shifting. After riding with a Quickshifter enable bike, going back to a bike without it seems archaic.
