It is very hard to find a good PTSD therapist. I find that meetings, people who have been through similar trauma are the most helpful. Personally just for me.

Thank you for posting this. I am a Dessert Storm/Dessert Shield veteran. Mrs. McDonough is the most selfless person I've ever met. Her devotion to us vets is unbelievable. She's the real deal. Independence for Veterans needs to be in the spotlight - she will go all the way for us

Kate, what a lovely, eloquent and passionate interview you did with StaciaMcDonough. My husband Joe (a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran who required a heart transplant 7 years ago due to his Agent Orange exposure while "in country" as an Army combat infantryman) and I are volunteers with Stacia's Independence for Veterans organization. She has such admiration, appreciation and respect for all Veterans but she is exceptionally compassionate and tirelessly driven to help our homeless veterans with their struggles with daily essentials and so much more. Their needs are great and we want to help them as much as we can. In order to address their unending needs, especially permanent housing which is currently our main focus, we need major funding. The pointed questions you asked of her provided such a well-rounded picture of who she is and why her passion to help Veterans is so strong. Thank you so much for exclusive interview which hopefully will get the word out about the struggles our homeless veterans face and spur others to get involved and want to help. Your interview with Stacia is truly inspiring. God bless you for sharing your wonderful forum to shine a spotlight on a serious issue that our brave soldiers, who served our country by their dedicated service and personal sacrifices, should not have to be subjected to. Praying that others will hear our plea and reach out to help our mission of helping veterans.
