Yo, I actually made this as my high school graduation project as I was doing a paper on the legacy of arcade culture and the FGC. NGL, when I look back at this I see a lot of improvements I can make and fat I can trim from it, though I'm glad many have gotten decent start with Ryu from it. Jump cancel the 5K and buffer a 66RC or plink dash macro~RC. 5K > jump cancel > 66RC 5K > jump cancel > forward dash macro~RC

I just want to let you know that i started playing 3rd strike in 2018 and i'm maining Ryu in this game. In every other game i'd play Akuma or Ken but idky in 3rd Strike Ryu is so much fun. He's simple but effective and a very hard hitter. All of his SA are so useful and he's just very fun to play with. Thank you! this tutorial really helped out a lot. There are so many tools i wasn't utilizing and optimizing well. And i didn't know which of his normals was for meaty setups too

If you hold forward a few frames after landing you go behind them. If not you remain in front.

+Awryko There's actually been instances where I've landed on the other side, but a majority of time I've landed on the original side. If it gets blocked you're definitely going into the corner but w/ Rashid's options that's not so bad.

hi what's the difference in all of these? Just timing? Did the wind alters the trajectory of the neutral jump to push it slightly forward like it did with the v trigger?

+Kuodo Cheok I used record to make Rashid perform the same setup and just tested different anti-airs with Ryu to see what worked and what didn't. I kept the inputs on so you could see the inputs for the AAs. The only AAs that were reliable were late DP and late cr.hp. Walking backwards beats the setup clean though. About the wind, you're right. EX and HK whirlwind shots grant the similar buffs to his movement/specials as his v-trigger. If the WWS brushes him in the air it pushes him forward.

The notation is: 12~Wing Evade(2), 123, J2~divekick. The combo after the cross-up is Wing Evade(2), 123, J2~mace charge.

Yup. Main difference is the patch allows for better strings to confirm into low laughing gas 3,2 & 2,1 are better strings that yield more damage.

I'd say try it on Hawkgirl first since she has a small frame that's easy to cross-up. The string I did against NW also works on her. The most consistent result for me is to land the j2~divekick ender as late as possible. After landing, then I do the WE(3) and it crosses up, then you'll be facing left. If you timed it right the foe will tech roll toward you instead of away. At first it's somewhat awkward to execute, but you just have to play with the timing of things.

50/50 is another term for mix-up meaning they'll have to guess how to defend your approach. An example would be knocking someone down with Ryu, then jumping in w/ j.mk forcing to them to guess whether they'll have to block left or right.

Haha good stuff, man. Fighting games have that way of bringing together people that many others genres just don't. I still hit some 3S every now and then, but smash is a rap atm. I had to retire Ryu and move on to Necro. Them corner juggles and footsies sync with my style so well. Btw, you're a beast for having faith in Sean, haha.

@SilverMummy Pretty much. The palm into j.rh does 200 and the combos after the reset range between 234-244. She can also do cr.lp > cr.lp > cr.hp xx rh rising kick for the most damage (247) and reliable tag cancel setup, the shoulders are better for corner pushing.
