It has nothing to do with BTO. Her BF just found somebody else. Why everything blame BTO. Furthermore the penalty for BTO forfeiture after Lease Agreement is just 5%. For private condo, once you forfeit after S&P, it is 20% penalty!

The point she is trying to make is that it is not easy predict this 6-7 years in advance which is what you have to commit for a BTO where two names is required. For her case her BF cheated but there can be many other reasons to break a relationship. Idk the facts exactly but 5% of 500k is $25k and nobody wants to lose even $100 if given the option.

People seem to only talk about policies, cost and housing for not having children, but they are not tackling the main issue mainly marriage or finding a suitable partner which is a key reason for decline. Also complains about money only comes from the middle and upper class. The lower income households still have more kids than those on higher income levels. so, is finances the issue or is it the number of experiences we have access to with higher incomes which puts us off having kids or starting a family?
