Combination of Cockatrice and Discord. There are some other applications good for playing MTG online with friends if you are interested. - Spelltable is pretty good, but requires actual cards and mounted webcam. Is officially supported by Wizards. - Cockatrice is what we use, but is really a playfield and tools for tracking stuff. Does have a bit of a learning curve. Nothing is automated, so kinda need a good understanding of the rules. - Tabletop Simulator is a similar to Cockatrice, but also cost $20. It usually goes on sale in the fall Steam sale if you wait a few weeks. Requires a MTG mod/table from Steam Workshop. - XMage is kinda a successor Cockatrice. The idea is to actually have automation to the process. When it works, its probably the best of the bunch. But in my experience it's pretty buggy. If you are playing Standard and Pioneer, it's probably good. But other formats it's a crapshoot.

My brother and I play paper magic but I’ve been trying to get some of my long distance friends into it, they seem to like arena and I want to introduce them to commander without spending any money to see if they like it first. I definitely noticed a ton of lag on the Switch version. It sounds like the Steam release is much better in that regard.

I go between them. More map dependent choice. That said, I generally am way more comfortable in 1v1s vs. shooters with vanilla blaster than range blaster.

Motion +2, R-Stick +3. I probably could up my R-Stick sens, but +3 is more in line sensitivity I use in other shooters.

You should check out RetroRGB (www.retrorgb.com/). They more and probably better answers than I can give, but here's my 2-bits anyway. If I'm being honest about jail bars, I rarely even notice them myself but people who do will rave about how ugly they look. An upscaler (like the Retrotink) won't fix the issue as it's a problem on the hardware. A triple bypass mod will fix it. My recommendation is if you don't notice it, it probably isn't worth the effort to fix. But I play Genesis almost exclusively on a MegaSG, so what do I know lol. The triple bypass will also improve audio, but seeing as you have already have a model 1, you probably won't notice it unless you are a superior audio snob. Triple bypass improvement on audio is more for model 2/3 consoles. That said, you only get stereo audio from the headphone jack in front on a model 1. So most will either get a cable straight from the headphone jack to their TV/upscaler audio input or a cable that had a headphone jack to connect to (HDRetrovision is a popular solution).

Control SAS, Ricochet Rounds, Moving Target, Rangefinder. Rangefinder is straight up crack on sidearms. Combined with Ricochet Rounds and fact that its full-auto, the gun is just oppressive inside it's range.
