I was there for this. Shortly after this, my friend Brian went on a date with the guitarist Jen. I don't know how he pulled that one off.

Never get tired of this video, been watching it for years. Great, beautiful music in a great relaxed cool setting, beautiful man. I met Chuck Treece about early'90s at City Gardens club in Trenton New Jersey. Doc from Bad Brains invited us down for the show and Chuck Treece open for them with some other bands. Chuck was just a skinny young teenager back then, a really really cool laid back guy. He was sitting on top of a huge speaker wearing just a pair of shorts and playing his guitar when we met him, also a really great musician.

I believe members of Trump's White House are executing witnesses across the country and around the world and we are not hearing a thing. This internet is compromised. Cell networks will be owned. I do not know what to do but worship God and speak with our HEARTS. THIS IS WHAT IT'S WORTH

4:16 If anyone has any idea wtf he's doing here, tell me. That'd be great. I just don't understand, two notes are ringing with just one pluck of the string? What?
@syvlcommuter2 ай бұрын
he’s recording to a loop pedal and constantly playing over/adding to it
@BrunoOfCanada2 ай бұрын
@@syvlcommuter Yeah I know. I'm very familiar with the band. I'm talking about the part he's playing right there. Unless he's playing the same notes a quarter note ahead so that it gives that "duplicated" sound?
@syvlcommuter2 ай бұрын
@@BrunoOfCanadayes, he’s playing off of the loop by playing the notes an eighth note ahead of what’s being looped, technique-wise he utilizes a very strange hybrid pick as well as note placements on his guitar being used to compliment the open strings. overall just a very strange and unique playing style
@BrunoOfCanada2 ай бұрын
@@syvlcommuter OHHHH You're right. I've been trying to nail down the parts of this album for a long while now and I've never encountered that. I know that trick of playing things slightly ahead of each other is a STAPLE of Ian's playing (during this era at least), but this is more of like an audio illusion. It's just so well done, wow.

The prophet is characterized as speaking against an increased disparity between the wealthy and the poor with themes of justice, God's omnipotence, and divine judgment.
@Tim_Climie2 ай бұрын
Amos prior professions and his claim "I am not a prophet nor a son of a prophet" (7:14) indicates that Amos was not from the school of prophets, which Amos claims would qualify him as a true prophet. Amos' declaration marks a turning point in the development of Biblical prophecy. It is not mere chance that Hosea, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and almost all of the prophets given significant coverage in the Hebrew Bible give first of all the story of their special calling. All of them seek to protest against the suspicion that they are professional prophets because the latter discredited themselves by flattering national vanities and ignoring the misdeeds of prominent men.[5]
