Never had bear but wild game is excellent eating. Chances of an internal parasite infection from meat isn't the issue. Wear gloves while butchering, don't lick your fingers (yuck) and don't eat the guts. Wash your hands. It's trichinosis you have to watch out for. Parasite that lives in the flesh. Bears are notorious carriers of it.
