Do you mostly do one coat on your jobs? I see some say one coat squeegee, one coat spray. Others say Only 2 coats on commercial parking lots and one coat on residential. What's your process? Do you offer one coat vs two coats or do you not even mention it and just do one? Thanks for all information you can share. 🙏

Nice little set up!! I am green as green can be. I never thought i would get into seal coating but i have a black top driveway that was done very poorly and its cracked like a sheet of glass over the past 14 years so unfortunatly i have to fill the cracks and seal it every year or ill loose the driveway. The cost was killing us but we were paying every year 700. And i never conplained about the price. Always thankful for the service and always oosted my druve way i. Facebook showing his work and oraising his work every time. I WAS a very loyal customer. Well last year my man CALLED ME in august , gave me the new price of 750 and i said well i have to have it done so it is what it is. He never showed up last year and i let it go all winter. I know this fella, graduated with his wife. This past spring he messages me to see if i want to have my drive way sealed. I said hell YES EVERY YEAR!! , that was in may. I reached out to him in august , and he said he could do it the following week. I NEVER ASKED WHY HE HADNT BEEN HERE YET!! WELL, No call no message. SO , 4 weeks ago i messaged him again and i asked Him AT THAT POINT If he was going to get my driveway sealed this year before it gets cold. I said if you cant do it , thats fine but PLEASE let me know if not so i can get someone else here before it gets too late AGAIN!! . So i gave him the opportunity to kick me to the curb but he said YES, he will do it. He said i can do it...... one day next week. That was four weeks ago!!! No calls no nothing. So i started doing the math in how much i have soent with him iver the past 6 years and with my blood boiling from him giving me the run around all summer i ordered a rynoworx RY10 pro crack filling machine. I am not depending on noone from now on to come seal my driveway. I am Going to do it myself and save thousands of dollars over the nect 10-15 years and also hopefully be able to stay ontop of my driveway to keep from having to reblacktop a third time. I cant wait for my machine to get here. Suppose to be delivered on friday. I am going to roll it out in the center of my driveway and take a nice picture and post it on facebook and politly let him know i wont be depending on his nondepndable arse ever again without really saying everything or even mentioning his name. He will see it for sure. I dont know why hes bullshited me all this time but we will see how he likes these apples. He was just exoecting me to call someone else....Then i started thinking.... I am retired, (52) and i was thinking about doing something on the side but didnt want to be tied down to any empoyer. What if i just did a few driveways per week thruout the season and make some good money for my hours of labor instead of funding a part time job working for someone and be tied to a schedule. Now , I wil have a crack filling machine. I also have a really nice 6.5' x 10" utility trailer. I have a nice reelceaft retractable hose reel i bought for 100 bucks on market place that retails for 700 just sotting here. All i would need is a small tank, pump, and wand, ofcourse the brushes , squeegees and all other tools. But i have a good start and didnt even realize it until the luvht bulb got switched on. With all that said, where did you get your tank? Ii like the size, SMALL!! Is it plastic or steel and does it have an agitator? . If you had it to do over again would you do anything different like instead of using air would you use the bango 2" pump with honda engine or is the diaphram the only way to go for low pressure seal coating. If i do this i want to have a cadilac LITTLE SET UP as cheap $$ as i can do it. I am not competing with ANYONE. My work will sell itself. I want to give a great service and i want to make it as easy for myself as possible and i want grow do it for a small amount of people and take it from there. I am a perfectionist at what ever i do, OCD which is good but bad at times. Lol. and i like to do things right , the first time always as perfect as i can so working for myself i can give a great service at my own pace and charge accordingly. I aint going to do great work for nothing either and all i need is a small client list and the word of mouth. Whats nice is i am not trying to take on the world. Just want to make some money on the side , on my own terms , pace, and schedule. The worst case senerio i do no other driveways but my own from now on and save money every year. Or i can do mine and do some others and make some $$. It could be a win, or possibly a win win lol. We going to see. I dont want a 30,000 dollar rig to compete with the jonses, i want to have a dependable LITTLE set up that will get the job done with ease and no headaches and most of all without breaking the bank. What are your thoughts on using the square plastic tanks seal coating comes in? I know they dont look professional but would they work or would they be a disater trying to make work year after year. Any heplful thoughts you could share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your vid.

When you’re done spraying, do you need to run water through the spray system, and the pump to clean it out? If so, how do you do that?
@yfzcrazi213 ай бұрын
Correct me if I’m wrong, but with the diaphragm pump, you don’t have to worry about shutting the motor off while you’re brushing around what you puddled out? I use a trash pump currently but have a diaphragm set up for next season. The trash pump I have to shut off after I puddle out the seal. I can’t let it run constantly and circulate, I learned the hard and had it heat up and harden in the pump on me. Just making sure the diaphragm pump works as I’m understanding?

Everyone in my industry which is paving. They are all cut throat backstabbers. We get work and stay busy because we have been around a very long time. Started in 1961. Best way to stay busy .... there is no secret. Hustle your ass off .. Henry ford famous quote. If you think you can or you think you can't. Either way your right Seems like in the last 10-15 years there is a new paving or sealcoating company every month They work for peanuts do terrible work. And homeowners / business owners are ok with it because there price is so cheap .... not the same business it used to be that's for sure

Family owned and operated paving company since 1961 We stopped sealcoating residential about 10 years ago. Everyone buys or builds a Sealcoat rig, runs some Facebook ads ….. and they are in business. Used to be a good business. Not a way to make a few extra dollars. But actually a good business….. it no longer is. You got guys coating driveways for .20 cents a foot . It’s a seasonal business … can’t go to work when it’s cloudy with a chance of rain, or if you have a rainy week your stuck home , sealer is close to $4 a gallon here in the east coast Take into account it’s seasonal. We are able to Sealcoat about 7 months of the year … rainy year knocks that down to about 5-6 months…. Because it’s so easy to get in business….I see about 15-20 sealcoating rigs driving on the road every day. Guys here are sealcoating driveways anywhere from $100-200 bucks . 100 percent over saturated market …because it’s very inexpensive to get into business. If your not getting .40-50 cents a sq ft. You are basically just trading dollars. Not a good business anymore. Not a good business. It used to be. But it’s over saturated Unless your sealcoating 12-15 driveways a day or putting down tank loads of sealer on commercial work. There is no money in it anymore
