I love this, I didn't know they had another Inner Light visit.

I keep thinking that melody is going to ve the Skye Boat Song, and it always surprises me when it does something else.

The look Picard had when he heard the first notes of this song on the piano, it all flooded back to him in that moment. And I think he felt that playing a duet of it in that tube crossing the stars was the most fitting memorial for the life he lived with his family lost.

I wrote a song for our church with this tune. Dear Lord please bless our Zion. Hold her close to you this day. Bring her peace and joy through the coming years and watch over her Lord, we pray. For 100 years you've watch her shine. We felt the touch of your love devine. May we hold your hand through eternity , dear Lord, it's your light we see. Please guide our steps as we walk this earth. Make our last breath, a glorious birth. Feel the joy that we don't walk alone, till that day when you summon us home. Till then teach us to walk with grace. So we can hope to see your face. And that day we will meet again in the sky, we will all sing your praises on high. Dear Lord please bless our zion. Hold her close to you this day. Bring her peace and joy through the coming.years and watch over her Lord we pray.

Beautiful scene. The actress has since passed away. RIP.
There is no feeling like hearing some else play your music, for the first time. Like hearing someone else read you poetry, there is a sense of validity, of honor and appreciation.

What if we are ALL in the most acoustically perfect spot. Maybe we're ALL having the experience Picard had and we'll wake up in about 20 minutes or so.

His smile when she starts improvising around the melody, elaborating on this very personal composition, is perfect. As if this melody is holy ground to him, yet he doesn't mind, is in fact pleased to allow this extraordinary woman to walk around in it.

Aiyoo, this is some advanced topic. I'm still stuck in the area figuring out which thoughts are mine, which thoughts are not mine, are all my thoughts and I'm just too afraid to admit they are my thoughts, or are none of them my thoughts, can I pin an ID on thoughts, should I pin an ID on thoughts. And Star Trek is talking about resonance chambers. See you people in 500 years - or like, not in this lifetime. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

You can put your phone into a tube or large vase, and it will amplify the sound by acting like a resonance chamber. Sometimes Star Trek = low tech wonders

Love the scene, can't help wondering - how did Data not detect the music while he was walking through the same part of the room Geordi heard it from? 😆

I don’t know who wrote that flute melody but it is absolutely beautiful and Picard puts such feeling and emotion every time he plays it. This is the only other episode where “The inner light” episode is referenced. At the very end of the inner light there is a powerful moment when he clutches the flute tight to his chest because of the very personal meaning and journey he took with it. I only wish the flute and that episode would have been used more In the series’s as it is amongst my very favorite ❤️ in all of Star Trek.

The glory of having a show having many seasons under its belt and given a scheduled season being 20+ episodes, you just get (not so) quiet wonderful moments, spec scripts from fans, and just great memories

Only -six- *seven episodes from 1988 to 2001 were spec. Four were TNG episodes. TNG - The Bonding, Measure of A Man, The Offspring, Tin Man DS9 - Starship Down, Only a Paper Moon VOY - Prime Factors

Its too bad that the lady who sought out such a perfect resonance chamber played the cheapest, tinny sounding casio keyboard. Also, Geordi: "I hear music." Data: "I don't hear music. Only the sounds of two people aggressively having sex

After this Geordi and Data were perplexed by the loud banging noises heard coming from the Jeffries tubes and had Riker change course to a Star base to investigate.
