I am about to sign up for the 50K and saw this video on KZbin. First of all you guys are so cute, LOVE your energy! The video was very inspiring but I’m WAY slower, hoping for seven hours. I’m nervous about getting lost though. I run Bryant all the time, but it sounded confusing on the video. Thank you all again so much 🙏🏾

Thank you so much! I will say that the Long Hunter 50k has a, passionate race director and a lot of course markers but the turnaround points can be confusing. There aren't enough volunteers to highlight each important intersection. The fact that you have some familiarity with the course will give you a huge benefit in being able to keep a mental map of where you are and learning the course will help you anticipate those important landmarks. If you have the opportunity, I'd really recommend bringing some kind of GPS device (your phone or a smartwatch with maps) and hike/bike/run the Jones Mill portion so you have some familiarity with it. That's the section with the greatest opportunity to get lost. If you have the budget, a map enabled smart watch is a game changer. But we didn't have one when we ran the race. And, hey, if you do manage to get lost in classic ultra running tradition, that extra distance is considered "bonus miles" and something for you to wear with pride when you cross the finish line. Good luck!

I just found you guys on IG, (Followed), tracked you to the YT, (Liked 👍🏼, and subscribed 😉) I have to say, I LOVED THIS VIDEO!! I've done 10Ks [not since HS and college 🙄] but I remember what all it takes... Wow, 50K !! 😮 🎉🎉 to you guys 🎉🎉🎉 As for videoing while running, 🫨 I give you both tremendous credit. And the editing, adding in the aerial view of the course, trail marked in red, was brilliantly done!! 🎉🥳🎉 I wish there was a way to have more people watch and comment, but right now I don't know anyone else who runs/ran. I will link to this when I get my Blog up and running 🤞🏻 Thanks for a Super Great video, and a glimpse of the Long Hunter 50K!! 😊

Thank you for the great video and webpage! Worked out exactly like planned with your additional help. As an engineer, a couple of notes on all this for others ... Get the 3/8-24UN tap and run several times thru each front anchor plate to clear out the paint and such. The bolts should thread in by-hand easily. This makes mounting the front anchor plate SO much easier! Fine thread bolts are ~very easy to cross-thread! Otherwise, great helper vid! (2020 Ram 3500 Diesel)

At 2:10 you installed that tab backwards. The threaded side should be on the inside, so when I install the screw, you make it tighten the whole sandwich together and it holds tighter.

Very interesting. Question: if you run two MPPT 100/50 solar chargers in parallel like that shown, do they need to communicate with each other? Presently I have one 100/50 and 880 watts of 18V panels divided as three identical 160 watt, two identical 200 watt, all same manufacturer, all same voltage, all in parallel. It rarely goes over 76% efficiency = 670 watts, and the charger is rated for 700 watts where anything exceeding that is basically left unused. I plan to buy a second 1000/50 and four 200-watt panels identical to the two 200 watt panels that I currently have. I use 6 gauge for the charger output (the maximum size that will fit the charger) and have no problems whatsoever other than I need more power. Do you foresee any issues?

I like the design, look and price of the Happijac mount over the 'lower frame mounts' that cost 2x more...the drilling and assembly are a bit undesirable, but overall, the price is the big dissuader on the $900 frame mounts (where there's $100 of steel, and $800 of profit for the company).

The fender flares are designed to fit the manufacturer's body, so one flare could fit on similar bodies but not all. Bushwacker has a vehicle selector on their website so you can narrow down what flares will fit on your rig.
