Yessss I love this soundtrack. Apparently the soundtrack was composed by Steven “surasshu” Velema, who also worked on Steven Universe. I shouted him out on Twitter ages ago, and he was actually surprised to hear anyone talk about it.

For those who disliked this (I know why a large chunk of you did): The game itself isn't hacked. It's unmodified - the LeapPad 3 is just the only easily accessible way to properly record this game (a camera *is not* a good way to record this game). The LeapPad 3's hardware is just way faster than the Didj hardware, which leads to the game running at 60fps instead of the intended 16-30fps that the original hardware would do (and there currently isn't any way to fix this). All of the glitches/exploits seen in this video can be done on an official copy of the game on the original hardware. Also, the video is clearly labeled as a speedrun and isn't labeled as glitchless, so there's a reason I broke all of the levels here. If you wish to see this game running as intended, watch the Leapster Explorer playthrough I did. They actually capped the framerate in that version (but on the original hardware, the performance is equally as bad as it was on the Didj - this game was rushed due to strict deadlines and ended up not being very well optimized as a result).

Part of me thinks that at least part of the dev team thought that they could make a poor man’s remake of the death egg saga(Sonic 2 and Sonic 3&K), but then randomly added in green hill references and placed levels out of order

This whole game feels like a fever dream, between the clearly stolen music and half of the character dialogue being made up of spliced clips from the movie and the other half being done by people with the worst impressions possible. Like it feels like somebody’s bad Shrek fan project in the best way

Okay, I just discovered this when I was playing with my old Leapster. When you're in Color Corral, if you spam a bunch of buttons at the same time, you get the correct answer sound. Am I the only one that knew this? EDIT: Just push up, down, left, right and you'll hear the sound.

And people Sonic mania is the best classic sonic game when this gem is right here
