MarvelCBD is a great resource for deck building. You can pull decks other people have built and use them and/or tweak them. It may give you some ideas on how you want to build your hero. I use it all the time so I don't have to waste time thinking about the deck building.

Abstraction is the key to understanding d&d combat! I really liked your explanation of AC and damage reduction. The explanation of HP in the 1e dmg really helps open up the abstract nature of other areas of the game. It’s really eye opening to see hp as more than physical damage, but also luck, stamina and so on

This is so slow, mate. I get it, 4e is more balanced, but the combat takes forever.

Watching in the past here, but I think the one kill from the barbarian in wyvern forest should have removed minions from the cursed plateau and mermaid harbor as well.

my houserule to having this scenario be worth the setup for single player is to alter the setup to only reveal 1 objective card PER player. it means soloplay will only see 1 guarded objective card at the start of the game. that way the scenario is reasonably playable.

Brutal first 2 turns, but that's what makes this game pure awesome sauce. Can't wait to see the rest.

7:51 You only have 1 overrun (crystal) when placing minions no matter if you are placing one or two to a location. It is under the FAQ on Page 17 at the bottom at BGG files section for the game. I hope this helps.

I think you may be playing Mid War incorrectly. The 2nd Darkness Spreads card should not place minions, if my memory serves. This is making the game more difficult than it needs to be!

I havent read the rules (or played the game at all) but to answer your question with an outside view: I feel that it could be a house rule that you can play special cards to other players (not on the same space). Similarly you can have it so that you HAVE to be on the same space to play the card. I say choose the way that suits your play style the most. I feel that there is an extra layer of difficulty not having access to other players special cards during a game while having access would be an easier difficulty. :)

17:50 Hello Robert! Small correction. I don't know if that would change your choice, but there are 3 locations adjacent to Monarch City (Wolf Pass, Orc Valley and Dancing Stone), so you could remove a total of 3 minions, not 2.

The game being a bit hard makes it even more interesting!

This game is famous for going utterly ridiculous at the end of every single game I've seen played (and it has been a lot) so the double Cultist and the Mi-Go (that should be in the base game so you should definitely have that) makes sense there. Honestly, if she hadn't gotten wounded, you would have won as you were only a turn short. So, you played better than I've seen a lot of others do.

Seeing a Star Spawn...*and* a mi-go on the board is terrifying. I do think the greatest weakness of Mansions is that it has no restraint. A real life Game Master would be able to "read the room" and know that the players really don't need *another* monster to deal with at this point in the game, but the simple game engine has no concept of moderation.

I don't have a Joe Diamond in my MoM 2ed game. Are you playing with an expansion set?

Yeah, if you re-read the Star Spawn's qualifier, it said move 1 and then it attacks. I'm almost positive the Cultist was written differently so it had to try to get into range of an investigator and attack, and if it couldn't attack, it just moved. That Star Spawn was always going to move with attacking being irrelevant to it, which makes sense as it is trying to get out of the house.
