Had the same issue on the Harrisburg - NY Penn Station Line. I was able to save and reload, then open doors, dwell 60 seconds and close doors, then it completed and showed the end screen. Maybe that helps?

Yeah, I realize this now. This video is from when I was playing on Xbox and didn't realize there was a thing called an MCB. Not to mention there is no documentation, even to this day there's nothing in the manual that tells you to open and close the MCB when necessary. Even in TSW4 they introduced the catenary with neutral sections and needing to open and close the MCB. Nothing in the manual and with a little bit of research and a few tips from a modder on DTG forums I ended up making a video with the BR193 Vectron and the use of the MCB.

Hi, found your video via a Steam conversation you posted it in. You're right an absolute disgrace that bogies should simply disappear depending on your position, but to not even have the correct placement makes you wonder just what quality control they had when they released this. I have a love hate relationship with this sim / game, every so often I get the train bug and eventually after trying alternatives out there return to this buying the bits I want at sales or online prices, for what I play it for it's enough to pay. As you say can't take it with you. Have you tried Derail valley, although it is a fantasy railroad the standard is very high and due the the nature of the track you have to concentrate whilst driving. Also entails shunting and bit of brainwork hooking up to the correct consist and dropping it off at the correct siding once you get there. There is a game that is currently under development due out at some point, based on American Steam Locos. A KZbinr who works on a railroad heritage line is heavily involved in it. If you search HYCE on You Tube you will see his channel, where he talks about the railway he is involved in, usually whilst playing DeRail Valley. The game is named :- Century of Steam. Another good one is a game called Transport Fever 2, Which is more a logistics game involving moving cargo between farms, mines, factories to cities. However you can play it in a purely sandbox / building mode, where you are free to create your own rail network and can run a wide range of engines from Steam all the way to modern stuff. You can get lots of mods which can be real life colour schemes for Rail Companies, it also has a ride onboard camera. Anyways, best wishes

I understand This a duplicate video and longer, but I only made this in this way to show what is happening and when and how those who have yet to do this train intro follow the prompts as I also did, and will get stuck, and may call it broken, while Bugged yes, and the workaround is very different from the TSW2 version. But will this be corrected along with many other issues now that TSW5 is being released.

Unsure if it is a difference between prologue and EA but I have EA and you can hit it at 5km/h no problem. You can use the rear loco but only for short backing up as the pantograph switches dont work from the back. You just have to put selector in neutral, then block the brakes (below brakes is a lever) then go to the rear and put it in forwards, and unblock the brakes.
@GenX-Gamore6 ай бұрын
yes, I tried that, and while the loco did drive okay, I noticed the limitations, from what you just said they did not change much with the loco, I am not surprised but would have thought they would make changes. I really like how the loco is driven and works mostly, but they need to work on making more and better changes.

Do you know if its possible to calibrate the throttle, reverser, and brakes for this? if so, how?
@GenX-Gamore7 ай бұрын
That would be nice if we could, but the reverser, throttle, and brake(s) are not programmable through the Macroworks 3.1 program, the file piehid64.dll is what I believe needs editing, but I am not a coder. This is why it's best if the game developer really supports the RD natively.

Select your train and once you go back to the main menu "that is if you are not there already" look for the TOOLS button, look at 09:08 in the video the button is highlighted. click it and you will see options for the livery designer and scenario planner, I have not used the scenario planner so I am unsure how well it works with TSW2. Sad to say this doesn't seem to work anymore. In my experience, the trip goes immediately when the needle hits the top of the gauge, with the needle rising very quickly even on the first click of the throttle at times. Seems now starting from a dead stop on a hill is a death sentence.
@GenX-Gamore11 ай бұрын
Really? That means they made a lot of changes to the DE2 and seemed to have made it the least desired loco, but I keep seeing they plan to make it better in the next update? That would be nice, as it is your starter loco.

@@GenX-Gamore I've seen those same comments about them buffing it in the future but I can't help but wonder if maybe the aim is to make it only functional for shunting and short, small delivery to encourage early-game grind. Or the intent is to make it better now that it got nerfed. There's a chance I was doing something wrong but I swear I followed your video exactly. I ended up giving up on using it for deliveries and ground out some shunting down in the harbour to get enough money for the DH4.
@GenX-Gamore11 ай бұрын
@@daggern15 Yeah, thats exactly what I did. I gave up on the DH2 over time because I founds that I was using two anfd three of them ot get a job done and I found that the DH4 does better even with two of them. But, yeah I agree with you. They nerfed it to be just as you said and maybe that was the whole idea when starting a new career mode to just do shuting to build up your cash pile. This is all speculation. And, in a way it's kinda messed up, because the shuting jobs dont pay alot. You end up grinding away shuting just to build up the cash pile.

i think we're missing the most important variable in this situation, the consist. sure you can haul 3 cars up this hill with this method but you can't have any luck if you're hauling 8 of those like me xD so depending on your consist you may or may not do this. if you're light, this works.
@GenX-Gamore11 ай бұрын
@@wiawaysb Yes you do make a valid point, When I made this, I was doing it on the fly andd I did negclect stating what you pointed out. And the way the DE2 was reworked, it does make it even more of a challenge to get up a grade with more that was is shown in the video. From what I heard with the water cooler talk :) they will be reworking the DE2 yet again, to make it "better" time will tell. But I will give it annother go just to see what I can pull :)

If your consist in Derail Valley is big enough to warrant the locomotive configuration you’re suggesting (essentially, a distributed power unit set-up), given the sim’s present set-up of manually connecting links/“knuckles” and air hoses, having to also connect all the MU cables throughout the consist as well would be a real pain. If they added shortcuts to aid in the set-up, like Run 8 has, for example, then I’d love to see your idea as an option within the sim. Regardless, having the option, as you’ve stated, would still be cool, but even in the real world, MU cables aren’t “run through” the consist to connect locomotives. My idea: you already have a remote controller within Derail Valley that pairs with, for example, the DE2, why not expand that idea and have a DPU remote transmitter/receiver equipment within all applicable locomotives that you could use (much like a real locomotive does in the real world)?
@GenX-Gamore Жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for commenting and giving your suggestions and a good idea, I was not thinking of that in-game remote, I was looking at short sweet, and to the point. Yes, you make a valid point, and yes it would be a pain in the rear, and it would be best if the DP were as it is IRL, or as you may know from my video what game it's from, as it's called banking comms. The one reason why I suggested this idea was that when you press F3 and are now in Free Cam mode if you will, and when you hover over any of the cars or Locos, you can uncouple and couple with a mouse click after pressing the keyboard Alt to get the curser, not sure about VR or how it works. And even that can be a bit finicky most times but it does work as opposed to walking around, and it would be the simplest way for the Devs to implement it for now. Yes, that remote could be used as a remote radio DP control, as long as it was set to on and that is it, and the other locos DE2, DE6 "DM3 would be tricky as it's a manual transmission and may not work" and "steam not included" had radios in them. In my two-part video, and yes they are long, not intended to be like that, but I did try using the remote with a paired DH4 in the rear, it did not go well and even had a derail, with a backup save I was able to recover. This video I was looking to make it short and to the point, to get the message across, whether it did or not, I'm unsure. I like Derail Valley, and as it is not at times it can be a struggle to get things done, this sure would make things a bit easier to do.
