Fantastic pre ‘Locked Hands’ Shearing. I prefer this early George with the nod to Hines Wilson and early Tatum. Absolutely superb piano playing. Thanks for a tremendous post.

Moses Pergament is such an interesting composer and it would be nice to hear a modern recording of this work. The orchestra sounds just too subdued here and the last movement lacks momentum.

26:08 ff bzw. der ganze zweite Satz 13:15 ff etc. BRAVO ! BRAVO ! und nochmals BRAVO !... Eine Schande, dass in dieser degenerierten auf Niedergang getrimmten Arschkultur solch ein Meisterwerk nur noch 130 Views in 5 Jahren bekommt.

Version moins romantique que celle excelllente de Furtwângler avec le même violoncelliste. La version Rosbaud/Hôlscher ne démérite pas malgré une froideur certaine.

thank you for that - I didn´t know, that this very good perfomance existed. It equals their 1965 recording of the two concertos in E-major and A-flat major with Eugene Ormandy & Philadelphia Orchestra and I bought the LP in 1966 - wonderful music and fantastic pianists! - Mendelssohn composed both concertos for himself and his sister Fanny, when he was only 14 and 15 years old (1823/1824)!

Hallo Musikpensionaer, ich möchte über diesen Weg mal fragen, ob Sie das Konzert für Violine und Orchester, Erstaufführung: 1964, Salzburg, Mozarteum-Orchester von Kurt Overhoff kennen? bzw Einstellen können wenn Sie es besitzen. Ich kann sowei ich gesucht habe nichts finden im Netz. Ich möchte gerne seinen Kompositionsstil kennen lernen, da ich nun nochmals erfuhr, das Kurt Overhoff den gesamten Orchestgerpart für Kurt Leimers Klavierkonzerte schrieb. Vielen Dank für eine Antwort

Ja, das kenne ich, ich habe es auch im Archiv, offensichtlich aber nur die beiden erstenSätze, da das Stück seinerzeit gesendet wurde, ohne daß die Redaktion sich darüber klar war, daß es in Rahmnen der zur Verfügung stehdenden Sendezeit nicht vollsätdnig gespielt werden könnte. Wenn Sie Interesse haben, kann ich die beiden Sätze hier hochladen. Besten Gruß

It's wonderful to hear such a traditional reading of the work with the composer's sanctioned cuts which really tighten up the structure of the work. Unusual these days - although Dame Moura Lympany observed the cuts in her performance I attended in the early 1990s.
