I did mine without removing the spindle....so just the deiveshaft and the upper control arm

When doing this, remove the airbox for easier access, takes no time at all. Make sure to loosen the subframe bolts just enough to get the mount out, and make sure to support the oil pan with a board like they did any not just the jack

Thanks for this video. What was your mileage when this happened? I have 106K on mine and was ready to replace the whole system. This would be much easier. Also, why no muffler paste?

My friend, this is an outstanding demonstration of how the VW Jetta fuel filter pressure regulator operates. Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. I have a 2007 VW Jetta 2.0. I'm receiving a P2294 code on my scanner."Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 Control Circuit/Open. When I finally learned that the regulator was in the filter I changed the filter which did not solve my symptoms of hard starting, crank no start. So far I replaced the High Pressure Fuel Pump, Fuel Tank Pump, and Fuel Tank Control Module, Coil Packs, spark plug, and PC VALVE with no results. The fuel pressure on the rail is within specs, and steady for 45 minutes. The EPC and check engine light are on as well.

Do you have to leave the car in accessory mode the whole time or can you shut the car off after retracting the parking brake, then just turn the car back on after?

I drained the oil today only to realize I can't get the filter housing off. Smh 74mm, 14 flute. Future me knows now. Guess I'm changing the filter tomorrow. 😂😂 thanks for the video.

6:26 Why not use an electrical impact wrench for the 21mm caliper bolts? Most home mechanics do not have a car lift to allow long breaker bar use.

Good clear explanation helped throw light on the matter and, once I'd bought a couple of the chips and fitted them, also on the road. Many thanks.

Great video, lots of good info here. The regulator portion of our factory filter ended up rusting and causing a fuel leak. I believe the return from the regulator sent the rust particles back to the pump, killing it. Kind of a pain!

Those taillights did not come with the original vehicle. They are cheap halogen lights that are not compatible with the circuitry… which is why they don’t work, and you need the b003809.2 conversion… the light you’re so clearly showing us is a halogen light, not LED.

I know this a 7 year old video, don’t know if you still have your mk6 r. Did you have any problems with this catch can.? I’ve read that catch cans on this car causes the rear main seal to leak or causes smoke issues. I have a carbon clean service scheduled and wanted to install a catch can immediately after. Not worried about freezing since the coldest it gets around me is low 40s.

Torque Specs per TIS 1AZ Brake disc to wheel hub: 16Nm (renew screw) 2AZ Caliper carrier to wheel carrier: 75 Nm plus 45-degree rotation (Replace screws) 5AZ Guide screw (brake caliper to caliper carrier): 35 Nm (Renew screws) 1AZ Wheel bolt: 140Nm Just a suggestion to keep the acidic brake fluid from overflowing the reservoir, especially if you are going to flush the brake fluid (which I recommend doing every time you renew the brakes). Take a turkey baster or other fluid extractor and pull out as much fluid as possible from the master cylinder. Doing this before compressing any brake piston will allow the fluid in the brake lines to flow into the master cylinder, not overflowing it. It will also allow you to pull the old fluid out of the reservoir after you have compressed the piston(s), which can speed up the flushing process. Alternatively, you can purchase one of these; (www.harborfreight.com/brake-bleeder-and-vacuum-pump-kit-63391.html?_br_psugg_q=brake+bleeding+tools) and, starting at the wheel furthest from the master cylinder pull the brake fluid from the lines, just make sure you keep topping up the master cylinder if using this technique.

Be mindful, this coilover set he installed is the street version, the cheaper one entry level setup. ** ECS has a 32 way dampening coilovers that are way way better and easier to tune than this version. The street is about 560 or so, while the 32 way are $795 on sale.
