Chrissy definitely looked the best during the first season. It isn't that Suzanne Somers became any less attractive after that, rather the show's producers decided to make her look and act more childish and more air-headed. The side pony tail and pig tails did that. She always had that adorable shoulder bouncing laugh though.

I love this scene, Goldblum and Davis's chemistry really shines here and it would of been for the better if Seth didn't figure out what it was that was stopping the computer from being able to teleport living creatures, this scene not only beautifully shows the romance between the two characters on but also shows brundle unintentionally sealing his doomed fate as he gets closer to understanding how to living organisms!

@Jgm-gm9wi3 жыл бұрын
He might have programmed the plate and steak separately into the computer. So it knew it would be teleporting two different things.
@Shanethefilmmaker3 жыл бұрын
No. When Seth got fused to the parts of the pod that was an accident because the Computer was not programmed to handle the sutuation he was in. Whereas here he is able to program the computer to move the steak and plate seperately.
@TheMidnightPhil3 жыл бұрын
This scene, for my money, is the one that really seals the tragedy of what follows. I WANTED Seth to keep refining and developing the machine, for the movie to be about his pursuit of safe teleportation and all that. Him talking his way through the process, chatting about it over steaks with Ronnie, getting a little closer each time, and so forth. But one stupid little mistake and that was all gone. That, to me, is the great horror of this movie. Not even the body horror itself, but the fear that you could make one careless little mistake and be irrevocably damned forever after.
@abworld77093 жыл бұрын
Just imagine if Seth had actually succeeded in his personal experiment (had he not received the clue from Veronica). The entity emerging from the teleportation pod would prove to be a "Synthesized" version of the actual Seth. The real Seth would have been lost forever, just like the original "Real" Steak.
@jonnybirchyboy15603 жыл бұрын
Seth was already beginning his transformation here even before he stepped through the machine. The minute he started ranting about “The Flesh” was when he became a mad scientist.
@abworld77093 жыл бұрын
@@jonnybirchyboy1560 Seth was making progress while teleporting non-living organic matter. When trying to teleport living breathing organisms, the computer became confused due to the overtly complex life functions of a living organism. Seth had to reprogram the computer to become "Creative" in order to conquer this hurdle. Luckily, the first time Seth tried teleporting himself, the computer actually got it right concerning living organisms. On the major downside, a simple house fly was in the pod with him. This sample of the movie shows Seth as the original person still. Surely, ranting about the flesh was only a logical claim which was a product of scientific fervor more than scientific madness. Seth is a genius scientist and inventor in his field of expertise. But here he is still a sane and moral human being.
@jonnybirchyboy15603 жыл бұрын
@@abworld7709 His spiel about the flesh seemed to be going down a route few scientists have explored before. It’s the realm of Victor Frankenstein, and as we can see, his teleports were capable of untold horrors. I think Seth’s mania following teleportation was not just an influence of the fly mind, but also of a fascination with subverting nature.
@abworld77093 жыл бұрын
@@jonnybirchyboy1560 True, but only at first. Though the self teleportation experiment has produced an unforeseeable side effect which Seth has falsely attributed to be a side product of being sub atomically broken down and reformed. He wasn't aware of the fact that a house fly wandered into the pod with him. Thus forcing the computer to "Creatively Deal" with the extra organic matter and eventually splice both subjects on the atomic level.
