I discovered Jesus through self hypnosis. It opened a door. Hypnotic trance is nothing but focus. That's all is it . Prayer is a form of focus, religious ceremony too is a form of collective focus. How can one be devoted to Jesus and surrender all control to him if one is not focused on our love for him? The Church practises hypnosis every day in all but name whilst dogmatically sitgmatizing it as the devil's work. It simply does not understand what hypnosis is. What matters is, not the act of focus, but WHAT you focus on. If you focus on your love of Jesus then the more you focus, the more you open your heart to the holy spirit. It enters your body and soul through focus whether it be in the "form" of prayer, ceremony, meditation or hypnotic trance. It isn't at all "letting the devil in" - it's the opposite and it's a shame that people who do not understand it and who interpret the bible too literally permit themselves to banish something that could bring others closer to God.
