You're using RME UFX? You don't need Voice Meeter. You have Totalmix, which has "LoopBack" function. This takes everything coming out of analog 1 n 2 outputs and sends it back into any inputs you want.

I just got the same rig as yours with 8TB after working on a 13700K for 3 years, and you're right: the MacBook Pro blows that PC out of the water and fits in my backpack. I also love that the built in midi studio and sound interface are so good. If I want travel to gigs with nothing but my Mac, my travel keyboard and my headphones. It's worth every cent I paid for it.

Windows guy for 30+ years swore I would never touch a Mac, hate Apple. The M4 came out, did a TON of research, you cant build a PC for 1400 dollars that gives you the power of the M4 Pro, period end of story. I folded and got a Mac and I don't really touch my Desktop it's now a bonified gaming machine. Mac does my audio production, video production, programming and it's a workhorse, perfectly silent and smooth and snappy!

Thanks Austin! This sealed the deal for me. I have been planing on updating my Mac Book and I now am pulled away from a Mac mini and will be sticking with the portability of a new laptop!

I'm looking into getting a laptop with the new AMD chips, they trade blows with the M4 Max. But I'll also be using it for gaming on the go when going to gaming conventions etc.

Yea, same here... my main studio PC (AMD Ryzen 7950x) runs fine... but on every Windows Update i cross fingers that it runs also after. 😅 2 years ago i bought a macbook pro m1 pro because of curiosity. i am still very impressed on this machine! Sure, the AMD outperformes it easy. But i wait for the M4 Ultra Mac Studio that will come hopefully this year, than i will fully switch to mac. i never was a mac fanboy, but with this apple-silicon chips espechially for audio they nailed it. 👍

6:30 only 256? I would think 64 or 128 at least sheesh. (256 is not very very low) I've seen better examples of it's power with lower specs, so I'll just chalk this up to that. That computer should be capable of double or triple this with no issues. Either way, super sick powerful machines.

Oh I’m sure I can run 128. I used to run my last computer at 2048 lol

Congrats on getting this machine! It’s a beast, I’ve got the M1 Max and it’s incredible how it still holds great after three years! Looking forward to upgrade to an M4 Studio when it comes out cause that one isn’t gonna be tied to a battery which will translate to some more power.

I was literally going to say “Get the Caldigit TS9”, but I thought I’d continue to watch to the the rest! And there it was! I absolutely love the thing! I have a M3 MAX, and have one cable powering my entire studio! Look you, I love the option to change location anytime. Great setup dude! 🤜🏻

i just ordered the m4 max fully upgraded. $8k investment. my last mbp was intel and so is my imac which im still using, so im looking forward to a monster machine. once i get to like 80 tracks logic starts to act up, blender is laggy & davinci exports take...far too long then i have to convert my vids using handbrake. its a long process so i cant wait to get my new mbp. "pc warriors" 😭 yes macs last forever thats why its worth it for me. my 2010 mbp lasted 9 yrs. my 2015 imac i got in 2017 is still going.

NICE! a few questions to you: - any fun noise while running this 140 tracks project? - is it possible to run such a big 140 track project on 32\64 samples buffer without any dropouts? - is it possible to use DAW monitoring (vocal\guitar) real-time in such a big project? (32\64 buffer) it is VERY IMPORTANT to know) - your RME interface connected to a dock ? running ok? what is your round-trip-latency ? (you can see it in cubase) - you bought top congiguration mac. how fast your battery drain if you work in cubase (with big project). i mean on battery. thank you!)

In what universe do you think that this video is relatable? Everything you’ve said in this video just seems like a rouse for what is simply a brag that you can afford to pay over $6k on a laptop. I could be wrong, but it comes across that way, big time.

There are 0 gains for audio applications between the pro and max model. Keep an eye on that. Max will only give real performance gains in graphics applications.
@tbirdparis3 сағат бұрын
True, but with one exception, kinda. If your work requires more RAM than any of the Pro configs Apple will sell you, then you will see a benefit getting the Max. But only because you're getting more memory and avoiding slowdowns from saturated RAM, not because of the chip in and of itself.

Great video Austin. I’ve watched a lot of YT videos for the new Mac Mini M4, a few of them being for music production. It’s great to see real world usage instead of just a load of bench test numbers which don’t really mean a lot for day to day situations.

Did the same thing last November. Similar studio to yours, have an Apollo interface and the drivers with Windows were always a gigantic pita. Got the M4 pro Mac mini, 64gb, 2tb and it's pretty nuts. Unless I start recording soundtracks with Hans Zimmer I don't ever see needing more for audio. I can pull up about 80-90 instances of Omnisphere at 32 buffer size.. The Max is super nice but probably overkill for most people. Windows is losing the audio guys it seems.
