@lockhackle2645 nothing wrong with inexpensive weapons ,but do investigating,check reviews.dont feel too bad we all learn buying some piece of junk then we learn to spend more or buy better.Im in same boat as you 3 kids and very limited funds,which means when I do buy myself somthing,I save up for it,then I buy it. Lay away is a good way to get good guns when you need a little more time to get money together. Most gun shops/ pawn shops have lay away as they know it's tge Only way some dads can buy guns .You lose the instant gratification of walking out with somthing when you plop your dollar down,but you should be happy about your purchase.

I love that profile plate design of yours, better than Peak's oval i imagine. and that brass knob in place of Peak's D-Arm. Great design. Wait, so the hook clamp cannot be adjusted to keep various sized hooks inline for "true rotary"? I've never heard anybody mention that before. Being inline for tying isn't for the fish... it's to make the fly tying smoother for the tyer when using different sized hooks.

Great video! Probably the best video I found on these waders. Have they held up good? Thanks!
@lockhackle2645
@lockhackle2645 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching first of all and yes, these waders are hold up to the riggers of my fly fishing adventures. Just a thinking to think about. If you are buying waders, try to buy good well known brands… ie Orvis , Patagonia or simms . I say that from experience. Big box brands are tempting for the price, but if there is an issue there is really no recourse to remedy the issue…

Does the state stock Brownies as well, or only Rainbows?
@lockhackle2645
@lockhackle2645 6 ай бұрын
Typically the state stocks Rainbows. As the Browns had been stocked in the past…. Like the late 70’s and 80’s but, the DNr found that Brown trout thrived in the tail water’s on the Hooch

Love my PeakC, been tying on it for 4 winters now. CabB not think of anything I'd like to change. Although I do think the rotary resistance screw should have been brass. But the plastic one works fine.

It’s a simple thing, at your hardware store, get a price of 3/8 “ aluminum rod. Find something plastic in white… and a piece of heavy wire.glue the plastic to thewire (hot glue) dril the aluminum rod with a few holes to set the wire in

I think the color is brilliant. Harder for fish to see. I learned light blues, grays and white camouflage or trying to match the sky just plain helps immensely. My wife pointed it out to me going through my selfies with trophy fish. Always seem to catch them wearing a light blue shirt or my Huk blue camouflage. Thats my take on it so take it for what its worth.

Someone's video on this gun, and maybe others from the same (?) factory, said there was no lubrication internally. It could cause problems. I disassembled mine before firing a shot and found that to be true. I applied thin lubriplate lithium and some Barricade to close fitting parts where thin grease would not work. After a day in the field I never had any adverse issues. It was a joy to handle and shoot. But that glossy finish does make it look cheap. It is cheap in price! But not in quality. It knocked down as many birds as the expensive O/U my partner used; the birds offered no complaint. Thanks for your informative video. Your stock looks very good.

Thank you, for the comment. I have ordered a new hammer spring and guide rod which I plan to install . I did lubricate the internals as well along with checking for any burrs our gauding of metal on the firing pin channels.

If you can send it back to to TriStar I would, that is really the only way we as consumers can hold importers and manufacturers to their our standards. That being said I’m stubborn and wanted to air out the issue on my own as to learn more about how these work. I wish you the best of luck …

Have em, used em, caught some good salmon...but make sure you register them for any warranties. Mine developed two small leaks on the inside knee. Kinda bummed as ive only used them one season no abuse or bushwacking to the river so yeah. Next pair will be G4s for sure. I have the rain bibs and jacket in the same camo and wont buy another cause they rock :)

Thanks for asking and watching my videos. To answer your question your question… that’s just what worked for me. Having my profiler in the back and then the tool caddy in between and low out of the way put my vise in the first or front hole… So yeah that’s how that got that way.

I stripped and refinished immediately after buying this gun, because I hated the finish. The factory finish looks fake, almost plastic. It’s a shame because the base walnut is quite nice on mine. I really like the final result, satin finish on your stock!

Thank you for watching. And, the longer post is 3/8 inch aluminum dowl from home depot. The white plastic is from something laying around , it’s got glued to a section of metal coat hanger. The post is drilled with four holes to set the wire into in order to move the plate up and down. I hope this helps you out.

I have one in 16 gauge and when I first got it it was doubling on me, and I was having trouble with the firing pin on the bottom barrel. I sent it back to TriStar. They repaired the problem and sent it back to me with patterning targets they shot showing good regulation of both barrels. I have since shot some sporting clays and also took it on a pheasant and chukar hunt. I have not had a problem with it since the repair. For $400 it's really a decent gun for bird and small game hunting.
