Have you tried the Boss CE-1 chorus PCB.
@deancoyle4 күн бұрын
I havent tried one of the original ones. The ce-2w has a ce-1 mode... And that sounds really good.

@@deancoyle Hey Dean. I thought that it may abit mote control over the Chorus effect with the extra knob. There is the CE1 Clone pcb, but obviously the Panasonic MN3002 BBD is quite rare.

I'm going to go with Wurli. The Fender is more clear, thus is technically "better" sounding, but the Wurli has more stank to it. The sound of an overdriven Wurli is the definitive sound of soul.

Sounds badassed. Like a mix of a Rhodes and an organ. Great playing too. Had a real vibe.

I wonder if anyone has made a way to raise or lower all pick-ups at once, like putting the entire rail on a adjustable pivot. It would be great to able to switch the tone positions all at once without a screwdriver.

I guess they already have the V8 plugin for the mk8. I was a little surprised there was no mk2....but there are enough controls to give enough range to shape what you need.

wow so cool. I just saw a Facebook Marketplace ad, someone's selling it for 800 euros in Paris (not far from where I live) but they say it needs some repair work. Do you think it's a fair price?
@deancoyleАй бұрын
Good question. I really couldn't say if it's a good deal, there are not many about and not many sold near where I live. The main amp is tube amp on mine and needed recapping. And that got mine mostly working. The console bit is a bit more complicated. With that one not working I wonder if they are flexible on price?
@geekinthegarden3927Ай бұрын
Rather than guitar mounted it could be wrist mounted and play notes, change the pitch, sustain etc based on hand movements instead of the joystick.
@billyvitale8994Ай бұрын
Great job in making this, however I am not sure exactly where you are looking to improve the sound with this design. Overall didn't sound that great , it was good but without a direct compare ot was hard to really sense any improvements. Overall it sounded a bit muddy with not much character...also what magnests were used? By extending the range of string access like that you should be getting a lot of different points of sound input that is then somehow melded together...not sure if there is any benefit to this...to the contrary..the same for extensive magnetic string pull...it has been said to kill string sustain and cause other undesirable effects... What are the goals of your design? What problem or thing is it that you are trrying to improve? If ideed your idea is based on more is better...more is more....better is better. And better is only better within a well defined context.

What sort of brain fart did Keely force out when designing a tri chorus pedal that isn't stereo?
@warrengalliano6103Ай бұрын
Only the outside magnet lines are optimal output due to the way you wound the single coil. To optimize the output you would have had to wind coils on each line of magnets. Decent idea, poor execution.

Yes I should have the next couple of steps up soon.
@mojorocketmanАй бұрын
The way it's wound, it only favors the high E and low E strings, because there's no wires wrapped around the inside magnets which basically makes the A D G B strings sound similar to a normal single coil neck and mid together.

I paid £3.5k for my 1989 Mk II Suitcase. I'm pleased with it and it's tidy, does need a bit of work. I'm replacing the grommets and screws, have already replaced the speaker grilles, the 5pin cable and the Rhodes logo on the speaker, and the tolex needs a good scrub though there's no rips. The action has a bit high and dipped a tad in the middle three octaves and a few keys stick. These issues are minor but will get a techie near me to sort out and a general regulation. Still, I'm not sure it was a bit steep price wise but tbh most are around £3k in fair condition. My previous Rhodes, a 1980 Stage was £850 in 2012 and was near mint. Swings and roundabouts.

£3.5k for a working suitcase doesn't seem too bad. I would be a poorer man if a mk2 suitcase came up for sale near me around that price. Though I don't really track the prices of them as I don't plan on selling any time soon. Good luck getting yours playing well - its well worth it and super rewarding!

kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnPIon1porSce9ksi=rMPgd5QGUaHNEwr3 I had an original Peterson in the Mk1 Rhodes which is quite different to my Mk2 I like the Maxon Stereo analogue fx unit tremolo. You are 100% correct. Minimal playing dynamics and you can fool the ears- Hi my Retroflyer preamp sounds like thus on my Mk2 Rhodes.

Just seeing this, Dean; a pretty spot on analysis of our new model. We just announced the end of the Deluxe and today we took our last orders of the Deluxe model. Thank you for making this video, we think the Marquis is a winner. As a side note, historically we have a steady business of selling Rhodes. The these days, its all Vintage Vibe piano sales. We have Rhodes we can't sell. That is a good sign for us. Thank you and keep up the good work!
