i have major sensory issues due to my autism, but I really want to try tofu. Can someone explain its texture to me so that I know what I'm getting into?

It depends on the firmness of tofu and whether it is silken or not. For the most part, it absorbs the flavor of whatever sauce it’s cooked in so flavor should not be an issue. In terms of texture, it is spongy and soft, but with a little bit of firmness to it as well, so that it holds up. Unless it is silken tofu in which case it’s almost melt in your mouth. I would kind of liken it to even chewy at some points.

It depends on whether the tofu is silken, and it also depends on the level of firmness. For the most part, I would say it is soft and spongy, but with a firmness to it that allows it to hold up unless it is silken, tofu, and in that case, it is almost melt in your mouth type of texture and very soft and crumbly. Luckily tofu, practically absorbs whatever flavor is the thing you put it in such as sauce so that should not be a major concern however, it does taste a little protein like tofu can also have a crunchy exterior depending on if it is fried, but it is bouncy in a way however it is not offputting for me, but I have been vegetarian for over half my life now

Made this recipe, first off temperature was a bit too high, could lessen the time, mines almost burned. Secondly there needs to be some sort relief because of the oatmeal maybe some cream cheese or something light. Other from that it’s not bad but I would dust it with powdered sugar or something.
