A vacant truck for two days is literally thousands of dollars.
@RushinTruckin16 күн бұрын
WM isn’t necessarily penny pinchers but they’re definitely bean counters meaning they employ many people whose sole job is to track numbers which they use to make everything cost efficient. Most drivers are on a set weekly schedule in which we’ll be in a certain truck for our entire week. At the end of our week, we clean it completely out so it’s ready for the next driver. The following week, we’re in another truck the entire week. There are some drivers who are in the same truck every week but they still have to clean it out cuz that truck needs to be ready to use as a loaner for whatever reason. I’m on a 6/2 night schedule in which 4 drivers rotate between 3 trucks.

What I don’t like is our trucks go 65. I’m trying to attract drivers but, the pay isn’t enough because their companies pay close to Walmart and their truck go much faster than Walmarts trucks. If our trucks go up to 70, I might attract a few drivers from other companies to come to Walmart. But, I heard from drivers that have had 20 plus years at Walmart and that is their complaint as well.
@wanghaf_Gl0yper2 ай бұрын
What companies are paying close to Walmart?
@delejaynАй бұрын
Pay isn’t enough? What other company is paying 6 figures for literally no work?
@BlessedAndGratefulTruckingАй бұрын
The amount of wear and tear on a truck goes up exponentially with speed. You also lose a tenth of a mile per gallon every mph over 60, and more crashes are more lawsuits. The lawsuits would be even larger due to the fact they raised the governed speed, which would kill insurance prices. Speeds will not go up here while drivers are the ones responsible at those Speeds. Just my thoughts.

@walmartprofessionaldriverАй бұрын
0 to 24 months you get 21 days plus 4 safety days, 1 per quarter. So 25 days. Then it's 30 total days till the 5 years mark. It caps at like 40 days after 15 years or something like that. And usually 10 to 11 months to earn all your days
