That priest who told you that thomas merton was a complete ass, was certainly jealous of merton. If you are not a true monk, you will not remain a monk until you die. I have read his book " The seven storey mountain " an autobiography which became an immediate best-seller on publication in 1948 .I realized the cruelty and inhumanity of monastic life. The abbey of gethsemani at bardstown KY where tomas merton lived as monk, was a concentration camp. Horrible.

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, & languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, & his kingdom shall not pass away, & His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today & please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) & stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

You just need practice. It’s like learning a new language or a sport. You need a teacher who knows. The language of Love is very easy to learn and hear and see if you practice giving and kindness. Give, give, give. It will open your heart which by your words seems to be closed. That doesn’t mean God isn’t speaking to you all the time. God loves you right now, which is why you’re here. Which is why you’re frustrated and searching. Your heart will not rest until you rest in the arms of the Lord. Until you put Our Father above all else in your life. Our Father, my Love, your child Ken is here with us. Grace him please with your loving gifts. Grace him with your patience and charity. May he follow your saints and teachers of the church. May he feel you. Thank you, I adore you, Amen.

he was a very average common looking man compared to the chiseled, square jawed Hollywood star look. He has a big nose and kind of a round, bald top half of head and a triangular lower head. Kind of odd. Part of the attractiveness of his face comes from the proportional distance of all the features being close to perfect. Everything is in the right place. Because purity of spirit shines out in every picture of him, which is very attractive and comforting, like he's instantly fatherly. Lovely man.
