my chinchilla was hopping around the cage making similar noises, when I played this video, he suddenly decided it was a good time to ball up and have a nap as close to the computer as he could

Jeez, I hate reading the judgemental comments on animal videos about the size of the cage etc, most coming from people who don't even own a chinchilla or know the first thing about them. George looks happy and he obviously loves and trusts his owner. Stop with the silly judgemental comments people

YES, thank you. Seriously people if you're going to criticize a person about the way they raise their pets, at least watch the full video in question. But even then there's only so much you can tell from just one video, so instead of jumping to conclusions, just ask the owner . no need to be a jerk about it

Now that is one happy chinchilla! That little chirp is so cute. The other two videos I saw bothered me because of barking chinchillas, and even though I don't have a chinchilla, I still knew those barking sounds meant the chinchilla was upset.

Bless your heart loving this chin.. When my chin makes this noises, i will check him out, see if he is needing anything.. Was the room temperature ok? Enough water? Enough chew toy? Since George is housed alone like my chinchilla, I strongly suggest putting in a soft toy animal to be cage mate. - Just about his size, not bigger. Then watch them play many rounds of wrestling and judo....

Oh man is that chinchilla missing a hand? I also have an amputee chinchilla, but she's missing her back foot. She lost it when she was a baby at the breeders

My chinchilla makes a noise sort of like this but it sounds more like a choking noise to me she only does it at night after i've turned all the lights off which usually signals to her i'm going to bed, does this mean she's un happy.?

Is that a Costina chinchilla? I got one 4 years ago and it looks like this one but grey and touchier. She squeaks a lot!

He does seem well taken care of but i still think his cage could be bigger. Not sure if its the same for chins as it is for buns but i know chins run around alot and hes lacking that run room.

Hiya. Dont worry- this was filmed when he was a baby- he was in half a cage until he learned how to NOT fall over constantly on his back bless him. Once he could roll over back onto his feet, he was put into a normal sized chinchilla cage and he comes out for daily (sometimes several a day!) runs in the hall. He has had a run room (the hall) for his runs to his use all his life. So no lack there :)

My chinchilla squeaks when she's sleeping when i pet her, she loves it. It's all your chinchilla. You get to know your animal(s), not base off what other people say.

Oh he's so pretty! <3 I've heard of chinchillas biting off limbs of their babies, but your boy is a stunner even without a tail! :)
