I’m quite pleased with my 1960 purchase of this splendid Swiss Bulova 17 jewels, 32.3MM, original black dial, selfwinding, 11AFAC movement, with an un damaged stainless steel care with drilled lugs.

Thank you for this great vid and sharing your interesting thoughts on the collection strategy itself. I came a long way from digital watches as a child, continued my journey with all kind of genres, brands, sizes and colors, just to find my sweet spot. Matter of fact the whole journey and experience was probably for the moment now. No divers, no chronos, no Fliegers, no classic dress watches but gada type of elegant sportswatches on steel bracelets, those three handers with all kind of dial colors from green, to salmon, blue, white, champagne, red, purple, turquoise, black and silver. The watches all look like pretty same😅 OP39, Longines Conquest or the Casio MTP1302. 36-39mm with a maximum lug to lug of maximum 48mm. This is what I am collecting right now.
@AbdulRWatches3 күн бұрын
That sounds like an awesome collecting experience, definitely went through very similar way 😁 I totally get the GADA watch collecting strategy, simple three handers are always great 👍🏽 Thanks Harun 🙏🏽

I purchased a demagnetizer very similar to yours.I have seen a few videos on the subject since you made your video and I have come to the conclusion that if you do not touch the device you will not magnetize The items that you were trying to demagnetize.Also as I understand it if you move your watch in different directions you will scramble the magnetic force in different directions as you pull it away slowly.As I understand it just confuses the whole magnetic field that’s making your watch nonmagnetic I have use this with some success but I don’t have a proper timegrapher only an app on my phone. I’m also curious to know if you have come up with new ways of using this device and if you have had success please let me know.

Hi Abdul, I probably collect similarly to you. I collect what I like and I can afford. Regardless of the brand or style. This is probably called a "wild collection". I should probably introduce a maximum number, because the volume of a bank locking compartment has its limits. best regards

This is an inspiring video, you need to work enough to reward yourself, my dream is a diver watch such as Tudors, for example used in the Marine Nationale but I will never spend that much on a watch haha, where is the red strap on the Fortis from ?
@AbdulRWatches6 күн бұрын
Thanks Tristan. The red strap was from an chronocenter, actually for an Explorer II 16570 but I think it goes well with the Fortis.

Got me one, too. Nice watch. I like the minute track on the rehaut, it leaves more room for the dial. It wears comfortably and legibility is ... good enough. Lume is quite good, though. I swapped the steel bracelet for a grey waffle strap and it wears much better, now. All in all, one of me favourite watches!
@AbdulRWatches19 күн бұрын
Congratulations Karsten for getting it, it is definitely a cool watch. Especially with an upgraded strap. Wear it in great health.
@karstentopp19 күн бұрын
@@AbdulRWatchesThanks. A waffle silicone strap transforms it. I loses weight and gains that iconic "Apocalypse Now" look. I have both, the SD1970 and the AD2117 and both are flawless and good homages to the overpriced original.

Totally agree, they did a great job of capturing the essence of the apocalypse now watch. Seiko used to be affordable and durable. Currently they are totally overpriced.
