Turku was the major and last stop for the Viking traders, who was heading down to Istanbul. That's where you see the connection to Sauna's and Turkish bathhouses. As like the first part of the river down to Istanbul, is named Veliraja as veli-raja translated to Finnish means the same as "brother boarder" in Finnish. Veli - Brother and Raja - Boarder ........... Coincidence 🤔 ?!?

My wife and I were there for 5(!) days in Nov. 2018. Not much to see really, the green spaces needed watering and tending to, the streets a clean up. The costanera is a nice walk in the evening though and is safe. Much prefer Encarnacion really.
