I remember when Joe Franklin presented this on his daily WOR-TV show in the summer of 1972! He showed a lot of obscure two-reelers from his personal collection. 😃

Thank you for your comment! The only version available on KZbin is from a VHS transfer, so I decided to digitize my own 16mm copy.

The Cds version is slow and lagging
@MrSqueakyChips9 жыл бұрын
As you can see, vinyls produce a larger range in sound (eg. The sound is fairly low during a quiet part of a song, and it spikes up during louder parts) whereas CDs maintain a more constant sound level, resulting in the CD sounding good, but nowhere near as fulfilling and atmospherical as a vinyl. Don't get me wrong, I love a good CD, but there is something a little more special about vinyls, I don't know, it could be the ritual of putting the pin down, flipping the LP etc. But at the end of the day, every man to his own.
@DamnDealDone9 жыл бұрын
The mastering of the CD and the vinyl here is intentionally different so you can not extract any argument for Vinyl vs CD from this information. But on paper, CD's actually have a larger dynamic range than vinyl.
@hbsupermage9 жыл бұрын
WRONG! CDs have wider dynamic range, and therefor they sound much richer and deeper, BUT! CD nowdays are mastered in a way they jsut dont use this advantage, and thats why they sound like crap compared to vinyls, but there are some awesome cd masters that sounds WAAAAY better than a vinyl. bottom line, if you record a CD as it should be, it will sound better, BUT, the loudness war is making cd records sound like shit as someone below said, we dont compare the medium, but the mastering
@tf2whackyengineer9 жыл бұрын
MrSqueakyChips The CD not having range has nothing to do with the CD format. It has everything to do with whatever goof mastered the CD compressing everything to heck. If both had a proper mastering, the CD could actually have a larger dynamic range. If you give a vinyl too much range, you cause problems due to its physical nature, so you have to compress it some to keep those problems from happening. CD is digital, so it won't skip, etc. However, the Vinyl of this one sounds far better because someone really screwed up the CD master.

MrSqueakyChips Can I cite this as a reason that people who have no clue what they’re talking about should keep their fingers well and truly away from their keyboard? 😂
@Vindsxtono10 жыл бұрын
I think the CD sounds better. Its sound is wider and thicker
