This is a really clear and detailed tutorial. Thanks for making this try-out available. I just can't understand why when I dial and change the MODE options it always goes back to either "A" (aperture) or "M"(manual) modes after I release the MODE button. This is to say it's only accepting A and M modes. If I chose "P" for example, when I release the MODE button, it goes back to "A" and if I press MODE button again it shows "P"as long as my finger is pressing down on the button. As soon as I release it, it shows "A" again. Very odd. Any suggestions?

I was planned on getting a 4x5 view camera until I got laid off and had a stroke twonyears later..Canon introduced a T/S lens a few years before the layoff but at the time I didn't want to spend that kind if money

Hi! I'm a newbie, but wondering why in video mode the exposure comp dial only is able to go to -2 or +2, not -5 to +5 like in photo mode?

Fantastic, John! I read all 800+ pages of the Canon manual. As usual, Canon’s manual does a poor job of explaining why and when to use a feature or combination. Your video and verbal explanations really hit the mark and were exactly what I was seeking.
So clear, so accurate....Great job and thanks for sharing

Great introduction, I was getting annoyed with most other videos I could find just being about what they *can* be used for, and showing examples without explaining *how* they were taken besides "use a tilt shift lens".

I'm looking for help that cannon couldn't give me. I want to go in bulb mode and lock shutter open untill IM READY TO CLOSE witch I can physically do on the camera but I don't want to touch the camera. Do you know of a remote that will allow me to start shutter with a press then end shutter with another press. This is for light painting photography on canon r6 mark ii...... thanks so much for your help

@@JohnGreengoPhotography Point taken though not everyone can afford the luxury of your educational video after struggling financially to put a full frame camera together with a tilt/shift lens. I did eventually get the information I required FREE from another site.. On the plus side you made a very well put together vid and I'm sure the rest would be equally as well made. I wish you well in your ventures... Pete : )

I just got my Z8 and i get banding in high speed sync mode with godox 400pros. It’s such a shame since the camera is otherwise perfect and thiscould have been fixed including a mechanical shutter. shooting faster than 1/1000s makes it visible
