Full disclosure that I asked ChatGPT to write the following. My idea is, create a custom function that calculates and outputs the number of existing records for each step thus far. // Custom function to count rows for all steps (querySteps as list) as table => let // Generate a list of records where each record contains the step name and row count RowCounts = List.Transform(querySteps, each [StepName = _[StepName], RowCount = Table.RowCount(_[Table])]), // Convert the list of records to a table ResultTable = Table.FromRecords(RowCounts) in ResultTable let // Original data source Source = Excel.CurrentWorkbook(){[Name="Table1"]}[Content], // Define each step FilterAB = Table.SelectRows(Source, each ([BloodType] = "AB-")), FilterLess170 = Table.SelectRows(FilterAB, each [Centimeters] < 170), FilterWA = Table.SelectRows(FilterLess170, each [State] = "WA"), // Create a list of steps with their respective names MyQuerySteps = { [StepName = "Source", Table = Source], [StepName = "FilterAB", Table = FilterAB], [StepName = "FilterLess170", Table = FilterLess170], [StepName = "FilterWA", Table = FilterWA] }, // Call the custom function to get the row count for each step RowCountsTable = RowCountFunction(MyQuerySteps) in RowCountsTable

Worth mentioning how to loop through data model as there's a limit how much stuff you can call on one go.
@AccessAnalytic7 күн бұрын
Any tips?
@mienzillaz7 күн бұрын
@@AccessAnalytic usual you want to index your data in the model, set bunch of variables, one of which will be batch size, then initial value and optionally count for loops, as then at the end you want to append everything, and each CSV will have own headers, and you don't want them. Loop number will help you with that as then you can skip first row in CSV for loops beyond first one.
@AccessAnalytic6 күн бұрын
Cheers, so this as a workaround to a paginated report when you want large data exports and don’t have premium capacity ?
@mienzillaz6 күн бұрын
@@AccessAnalytic no, there's a limit when you query dataset in power automate regardless if the premium. In your case you called single value, so no risk there.. but if you want to catch a snapshot this is the only way..
@AccessAnalytic6 күн бұрын
Sorry, what I’m saying is a paginated report would be a simpler solution but that requires premium capacity. Any idea on what the data limit is?

can we save the utcnow() output, to any text file, as i need to get the refresh date and time whenever the powerbi gets refreshed
@AccessAnalytic10 күн бұрын
If you want to capture the date time of refresh then there’s probably a method via the Power BI API learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/datasets/get-refresh-history Another method could be to use power automate to trigger an update to an excel table on refresh
@sulochana514710 күн бұрын
@@AccessAnalytic yes i tried this power automate trigger, but i'm not able to extract the exact refresh time, i have used a compose action after the power bi refresh action, other than API, could you please suggest if there is any way to extract the refresh time and save to a text file. because i have a request to extract the refresh time and send it over teams, right now i was using power automate trigger flow, but it gives some seconds difference
@AccessAnalytic10 күн бұрын
@@sulochana5147 you could maybe query the dataset hatfullofdata.blog/power-automate-get-data-from-a-power-bi-dataset/ You could extract the UTCNow data per my video and save it to a new row in an Excel file Not sure how you trigger Power Automate to run though as there's isn't a "when refresh completes " trigger.
