I put carbonated drinks in Gatorade bottles because it drastically slows down decarbonation. About 3 times, I’ve had a bottle that is somehow different than the rest, and it will loudly launch the cap off if I don’t unscrew it fast enough. It almost broke my hand once. It hurt so bad, it was all black and blue, swollen, hurt to move 🥴 another time, it hit me on my chin and then bounces off and hit the wall, the third time it hit the ceiling. The loud BOOM is surprisingly jarring, and can be heard across the house (as well as my scream lol). The noise is so unexpectedly loud! I was expecting something like that to happen to the water bottle 😅 I guess the plastic is much thinner on water bottles and has less of a boom.

Used to have a cork just the right size to fit in the opening of a 2 liter bottle, with a hole in the cork and a small garden hose (with the hose end cut off) glued into the hole in the cork. Would stick the cork in the bottle, prop the bottle against a brick, and stand back and turn the water on. it would pressurize, the cork would pop out, and the bottle would go flying up in the air.
