Thanks for the interesting video. Job well done! I found that these plastic motors, even in good condition, are very sensitive to even the smallest bits of dirt or dust on the tracks, causing them to constantly change direction (due to the "power interruption" of the dirt). Where other locomotives run without any problems, these locos start dancing back and forth (to the hilarity of my children, so it has a function 😉)

I learn a lot from your Lionel motor “teardowns,” as most of my electric trains are American Flyer, which is a TOTALLY different motor design. Only a few of my trains are Lionel/Marx, but this type of repair video helps me a LOT to repair my O gauge locos. Many thanks, Marx Man! 🚂

Your history and narrative is most enjoyable and informative. I have some 7" cars in excellent shape and I left them in their original configuration. I utilize the 999 locomotive to pull two sets. I bought a SP 6000 and caboose with several cars from trainz for a good price and that SP is the power for that freight set. It's a pleasure viewing your channel, brother christian. Jesus is the source and the cross is the means. Take care and God bless.😎🐱🚂🚃🚃🚃✝

@GregtrainmasterАй бұрын
if you have a loco with magnatraction try that
@josephschuster1494Ай бұрын
Reverse operation is almost always rough, no matter what gauge you’re operating (probably problematic for the real railroads, too). And yet it’s fun in the sense that it’s a real challenge, too. I’ve been most successful when making a train up by placing the heaviest cars closest to the locomotive, and gradually lengthening the train by adding successively lighter cars to increase train length. This train makeup appears to work very well, at least on my train layout, Great video, Marx Man! 🚂

I love your channel. I subscribed a couple of days ago. You have helped me to appreciate again the old post war stuff that I have in my collection. Most of the train videos concentrate on the vast lush layout with detailed realism and their operating track side features that just go back and forth, up and down, and round and round and that is all. They concentrate on all the new radio control systems and the new highly detailed engines, rail cars and so forth. I am a child of the fifties and I like my trains the way they were; not the way they are now. I love your frankenstein approach to fixing and modifying some of these old train engines and roling stock. I mean your stuff is already weathered. Paying what you have to pay for engines and cars now; taking them home and crud them up makes no sense to me. I have no remote control train stuff in my collection. I love my transformer and my my 3X5 foot O-27 layout and it is going to stay that way. I live in a mobile home so you can understand it can be a challenge. You have brought to me a new perspective in model railroading. Any way your videos are very much appreciated.

Marx guy here, I found to avoid damaging the body tabs I`d put a dab of Superglue on them. So, in the future I can simply scrape it off with an XACTO knife. Good job, looks great. GOD BLESS.
